So Me and my Wife flew into Krakow(Poland) for the first time to head down to Zakopane in the Tatra Mountains from our Home in Manchester, England 🏴.
The Airport is modern, Extremely efficient, Spotlessly clean, polite and friendly staff, Variety of shops and a restaurant with a bar, a couple of duty free shops, slight wait for us as we are British and no longer in the European Union so we couldn't go through the self service border control we had to queue to go through the manned Border control.
To get from Krakow from the airport we opted to get a train to the Krakow Glowny(Krakow Main station) you can pay cash or card and we paid on board it was relatively cheap I think it was about 37 Zloty(£6.66).
Upon our return to Krakow Airport to fly home it was another great experience to get to Krakow Airport this time we got a Taxi from Krakow Old town to Krakow Airport(Train is quicker due to the traffic in Krakow factor this in when returning to the Airport).
We had checked in online so headed straight to Security, Super fast and efficient service, We flew through Security, Lots of staff on hand so once we cleared Security we headed to duty Free for some cigarettes and perfume and then headed to the Restaurant bar to have a drink while we waited for our flight.
The bar/restaurant was spotlessly clean, polite and friendly staff, great service and a nice place to relax and unwind before our flight and to top it off we saw this robot delivering food and taking plates away we were captivated as were many other customers I have put some pictures and videos on this review.
Me and my Wife post alot of reviews on Google and we always give our honest opinions and feedback on our experiences we review everything from service, atmosphere, food, drink, value for money etc and we have so far reviewed places from our home in Manchester(England) to Bezier Cap D'agde(South Of France), Rome(Italy), Split(Croatia), Island of Hvar(Croatia), Podgorica(Montenegro), Vatican City(Italy), Tirana(Albania), Sarande(Albanian Riviera), Krakow(Poland) and Zakopane(Poland).
And we review everything from being local to home or out and about to holidays etc and we have reviewed everything from beach clubs, Airbnbs, Travel, holidays, beauty treatments, football stadiums, pubs, takeaways, shops, supermarkets, Taxi's, shooting ranges etc and we have over 29,000,000+...
Read moreI have traveled extensively all over the world, but have to say this is the worst airport I have ever had the misfortune to use. We arrived for a city break full of excitement and anticipation only to be met with a que at passport control that contained at least two hundred people. It then took us one hour fifty minutes to get through, it was an absolute nightmare. Several older people were obviously struggling in the heat, young children very upset along with there poor parents. It got so bad two woman actually fainted over the nearly two hours standing "unbelievable" and there was absolutely "NO" assistance, this poor woman sat on the filthy floor for 20 minutes, no water and her poor family becoming more and more distraught this is totally unacceptable in this so called modern airport. It got to the point they called security as certain people simply pushed to the front refusing to wait any longer and tempers were becoming frayed including mine. Staff were absolutely useless, four young girls in yellow T shirts stood about speaking and laughing to each other, they made no effort to help the young and old it was "DISGUSTING" behaviour, and all this with several automatic passport readers not being used utilised. On our return we arrived at the airport only to have to stand as there is literally no seats. Then once again a 45 minute wait ,only one poor girl at luggage check in unbelievable. We loved our trip, the city is stunning ,the food was amazing the people are friendly and welcoming unlike the airport staff that is. Unfortunately our experience at this airport definitely tainted our trip and because of that I don't think we will return, simply couldn't cope with all the stress such a shame, beautiful country woefully let down by its airport first impressions are everything...
Read moreFor an airport, bad experience. Very few employees, sometimes there is no employee from an X company to service you.
Bag self service which is something you’ll see at few airports, has some machines which are not working at all, because of one I missed my flight. I was caught off guard that there would be a self service and non working one. It didn’t check out my checkin QR Code on my phone for my 10kg bag despite that I had both for 10kg and 20kg. And I tried multiple times. And nobody to help nearby. No employees as said and machines that barely work.
And checkins? Few and many times without employees or employees are at another post and they’re gonna come shortly. Like, what? That’s why I have to self service from broken machines and lose my flight? Thanks. 🙏
BUT it has a small diamond bistro at the front, with kinda reasonable prices, and good food and drinks and sits and enough tables. But the airport didn’t think of providing any plugs there.
There are very few spots to plug your phone or laptop. 2 spots under stairs where you can sit, one only for phones with cables near a “sofa”, and that’s all I could find.
And duty free is really … small? I haven’t found so small duty free at such big city yet. Like that’s against the airport? They don’t get the chance of us shopping there enough or many products, and thus less money? But I also don’t have anything to do with my time while waiting for the flight.
Thessaloniki, the place I live, is … disgusting in front of Krakow. I loved Krakow. But their airport is C to D-class compared to SKG, with similar population city, if I take out of the equation the great bistro at the front.
Has places to dispose your water, or garbage before the security check. Good that they...
