Great team. Due to the lack of rain this season the company we booked with to river raft were unable to offer an alternative. Step in 'Clube Do Paiva'. Within 11/2 hours we were meet. We were offered wet suites, boots, a shirt, wind proof jacket, safety helmet and life jacket. You only need spare dry under garments and a towel. A 15 minute drive to the start point. We walked a beautiful stone village while the canoes were inflated. After our safety briefing straight onto two white water areas. Our guide showed the way. More white water back to where we met. For some time now I have been on the search for rivers were I could do White Waters SUP (Stand Up Paddle), and so far haven’t found many. However, last week I had a great experience exploring the Paiva doing Standup Paddling down some rapids with “Club do Paiva”. We could not be more impressed with this company and João (our guide). Two families of 4 with kids ranging from 8-12 were taken down an awesome canoeing adventure that included swimming, mini water fall, and jumping from rocks. The water was beautifully clean and clear and felt great in the warm sun! We also had a great lunch afterwards at the cafe by the river which included both international food as well as traditional portugese.
