I hope the words in this review can express the depth of gratitude I feel for the Brejo Boyz and the incredible yoga retreats they created for me and my two groups of yogis from Colorado, USA. After working to reschedule this retreat for two consecutive years due to pandemic limitations and travel restrictions - the universe finally gave the go ahead - and we were able to have an incredible, transformative experience at Brejo Fundeiro far exceeding my hopes and expectations. The soul of this peaceful farm in the Portuguese countryside is palpable. Upon arrival you are enveloped by the natural beauty of Brejo Fundeiro and the healing power of its serenity. Delicious and nutritious vegetarian meals prepared with love and care by the men who brought the property back to life, Keith and Torsten, was truly one of the best gastronomic experiences of my lifetime. I have led yoga retreats elsewhere in the world but I have never had such consistent and positive feedback as my guests' reactions to this year’s retreats at Brejo Fundeiro. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces are gorgeous, airy and comfortable. The yoga shala is beautiful and makes you feel you are living in another century as you practice yoga in front of an audience of eucalyptus trees on the adjacent hillside. The two weeks I spent leading back-to-back yoga retreats during this most challenging time in the world would have been impossible without the support, understanding, flexibility, selflessness, commitment, and sense of humor of my new friends, Keith and Torsten. I feel so blessed to have been led to Brejo Fundeiro, and that I was able to share the magic there with friends and family I love, and I cannot wait to go back! Attached to this review is an attempt to show some of the magic through pictures.

I posted the following review on Tripadvisor, but I will post it again here as this place is so special ... Heavenly & down to earth ... As soon as I arrived I was in awe of the beauty and serenity of this retreat property. There is something very special about the energy of the place - all of the elements genuinely emanate good vibes... The surrounding gardens filled with fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, bees and butterflies (I spent hours on a sun lounger under the orange trees). The free roaming chickens, two lazy cats, two sweet dogs and distant sound of goat bells. The big airy manor house full of character (I’ve included some of my photographs of the little touches of charm). The peaceful courtyard shaded by beautiful big trees and dotted with places to relax. The yoga studio. The pool! The list goes on, but without a doubt the best thing about this special place is ... the hosts, Torsten and Keith. They are two big hearts on legs. Caring and cooking for their guests is clearly a labour of love. The food and drink was plentiful, nourishing, delicious and all home made. Herbal teas, kefir, jams, curries, salads, fresh bread and special treats like vegan chocolate mousse! True soul food. I didn’t want to leave and really hope to one day return.

Well what can I say? This home is such a beautiful place to retreat to. It oozes charm, character and the location immediately grounds you. The views of the Eucalyptus trees provide a stunning backdrop to the salt water pool. The courtyard provides cosy spaces for relaxation. The shala offers a tranquil space to hold yoga/pilates sessions. The rooms are tastefully decorated and all unique. The best part - the amazing hosts Keith and Torsten. You immediately feel like you're home with their wonderful hospitality. The amazing cuisine made by them was so healthy and organic. The dishes are easy on the palate and so delicious. I particularly loved the home baked bread, pancakes, cabbage cake and colourful salads. Not to mention the home made jams and chutneys. I still miss the food now it's so nourishing and delightfully presented. I don't think I've eaten so well anywhere else. This place has definitely raised my standards for a retreat.

Being a healer, I know the importance of practicing in an environment with a good energy. I spent a few days giving healing sessions in this magnificent holistic space with an incredibly healthy energy for the soul. This retreat center has so much to offer: beautiful places to be able to perform various types of therapies, meditations, workshops. It also has many places for relaxation and leisure - a great garden, swimming pool and rooms for socializing and reading. The architecture is beautiful and has excellent accommodation. I see the Brejo Fundeiro Retreat as an oasis in a desert, but in this case, the desert is also inspiring with a lot to explore around. The food is vegan/vegetarian and extremely well prepared. Hosts Keith and Torsten, are two beautiful people with huge hearts. Thank you for all you have to offer. Love, Paulo Rocha

Update: I was invited another two times to this beautiful place and everything continues as amazing as it was before. It’s very easy to create bonds with everyone that’s present in such an environment, feeling like family. Thank you once again for all the love, kindness and hospitality. Once again;...
