Fagaras is a range of mountains that are located in the center of Romania, named after the nearby city of Fagaras. They are very popular among the locals as the mountain range is vast, with many mountain peaks, and there are many trekking routes. Read moreSupranumiti de Emmanuel de Martonne "Alpii Transilvaniei", muntii Fagaras se infatiseaza ca un imens zid. Orientati Est : Vest, ei au o lungime de 70 Km si o latime de aproximativ 40 Km. Sunt delimitati spre vest de Defileul Oltului, iar la est de Barsa Grosetului si Dambovita. La nord sunt marginiti de Depresiunea Fagarasului, cunoscuta si cu numele de Tara Oltului (pe care o domina printr:un mare abrupt tectonic), iar spre sud de sirul depresiunilor Campulung, Bradetu, Arefu, Jiblea.
