Andorra Village has many issues. They all start with the management team that runs the compound. From the outside of the compound, it looks nice. Inside it becomes very different. The landscaping is only maintained on a regular basis just inside the front gate. The farther you get from the entrance the less the landscaping is maintained. Next is the central facility. The only real constant amenity that has been there is the store. It was very poorly run when we first moved in and has made only small improvement since. The latest issue being that they are shutting down the store with less than a week notice for renovations. This is an issue for a few reasons. First the word came out over the resident WhatsApp chat not from any official notice from the compound. Also it has been proven at other compounds you can setup a store in a temporary location while conducting renovations so that there isn’t a lack of coverage. There is plenty of room on Andorra since most of the central facility is empty. The next issue is covered parking. This last fall the compound finally started to install covering over the parking on the compound. The main issue here is that months later there is very little covered and one of the first places that had the covers installed was the hotel leaving residents without covers while management and temporary guests are taken care of. The villas are also substandard. To start the internet is on an open network. This means that every resident is on the same net and there is no security. If someone wants to access your Wi-Fi enabled items they can. Also the water tanks that Andorra uses are very prone to fail. We have had 6 water tanks fail flooding the area they are in. One has failed twice. This leads to time without water as well as damaged personal items. The closets in the Master bedroom of the 3-bedroom villas are not deep enough or a regular hanger to be used. You will need child size hangars for these closets. The shower in the Master is also extremely small. For a normal sized male they will have just enough room to turn around inside the shower. The whole Master bath is extremely tight. The laundry is a washer/dryer combo that is extremely small and takes a minimum of six hours to complete a load of laundry. For a family of four in a 3-bedroom villa this means you must be constantly doing laundry. There is no dishwasher in any unit on the compound and most of the compound has smaller sized refrigerators. The pools are all falling apart as the tiles on the floor are coming off in each pool at an alarming rate. Also, the pool water is extremely cold most of the year. Lastly, the compound is a minimum 15-minute additional drive to anywhere except for the airport. The closest grocery store is 15 minutes away as is the closest restaurant. Also be prepared to be told that all your concerns are you just expecting too much while the compound inflates your utility bills. If the management team continues to fail at the most basic functions of compound management none of this will change. For a compound that wants to be designated as a Premier Western style compound Andorra Village falls well short. You are best served avoiding using Andorra Village as your residence in Riyadh. There are plenty of other compounds in the Riyadh area that are better maintained and...
Read moreThis is a massive compound (1200 units), so you can imagine how much work goes into making some very demanding tenants not only content but also feel special. I’ve lived here for 3 months. There is greenery everywhere, which is maintained well. It’s always clean and seems to be well organised. I have no kids, but there seems to always be events lined up for them and their stay-at-home parents.
The apartments and furnishings are finished to a very high standard. We have two gyms, squash and basketball courts, a barber, a salon and spa, a Paul, Starbucks, Baskin Robbins, juice bars, McDonalds and Pizza trucks, loads of pools (two of which are 50 metres).
80% of any services or support you need are provided the same day. The other 20% might take frequent reminders to the management company. For example, I’ve been asking for my outside windows to be washed since I arrived. They were filthy when I moved in. Only just happened.
Talking of the management company, when I moved in, Fawzy was a great help, showing me around the apartments and sorting my contract. He’s always smiling and ready with a handshake.
Also, I have to say that Leen and Wafaa from the management customer services team have been the most patient, polite, understanding and attentive customer service team. They are true assets to Andorra Village. The keystones of the organisation.
Leen and Wafaa return your WhatsApp requests (if not immediately) within 5-10 minutes. For example, I had an AC issue, I texted Leen at 7:30pm on a Thursday night. 10 minutes later, there was an engineer at my door.
From our compound WhatsApp group, while I’ve had no personal interaction with him, it seems that Head Engineer, Mohammad Zaheer, is excellent at satisfying the tenants’ need and requests. Again, he replies quickly and gets the job done.
All-in-all, with 80% of everything working well, I can’t think of a better place to live right now. We just need that 20% to make it 5 stars.
Thank you,...
Read moreThis review is based on the new restaurant that is located in the Hotel Lobby area. Wife and me decided to try it out last night. Very small menu my wife selected the Salmon and myself the Single Beef Burger 🍔 and I mentioned in my order ONLY cheese. Also asked for sparkling water or any water and NO water.. Only soda drinks... The guy brings 2 7ups and some bread with butter on it... later on my burger comes out not to my order but I decided to go ahead take the things off that I did not want on the burger and eat it... It was okay... 10mins later the Salmon came out for my wife... it looked and taste okay.
The service from all the workers was Great and Santos from "Blind" really helped out when it came to asking questions about our dinners and trying to make it a better service or experience.
Okay, my opinion and this is just my opinion but I have traveled and visited many restaurants with my wife and having our apartment in Dubai UAE does help.
First off you need water or sparkling water on the menu everyone does not want coke, 7up, etc... aka soda drinks for dinner.
For the bread... Santos and me talked about it so he knows how it should be delivered to the table. Try to bring the food out the same time like mentioned before I finished my burger before my wife received her dinner. (Not Good) For the salmon, I recommend having some sauces to add on top of the salmon like soy sauce or teriyaki sauce instead of the plain Herb Salmon it was good but some parts was dry.
I understand the vision Andorra is trying to create but try to get the basics down first and also if you provide a good menu, service and good prices that will maybe keep people from driving 20-25mins to get food or having it delivered by some random guy that don't care if your food is hot or cold when he shows up.
3 Stars but can be better with little...
