I’m a first generation Sierra Leonean/ Nigerian American. My mom is from Kabala and my dad is Nigerian. I come to Salone every year once the school semester ends. I live in a house in Freetown. I’m always buying from different different supermarkets, but I must say Freetown supermarket is the WORST. A lot if not most of their items do not have prices so while shopping you will have to constantly shop and ask the price. Another issue is there goods are very very expensive like it should be criminal. When you raise the issue to management they argue with you and ignore you. This supermarket in Salone isn’t transparent with their prices and I truly believe they are taking advantage of the Salone people. The only good thing about Freetown supermarket is that they have a lot of items you are used to from abroad, but it’s well overpriced! FYI money is not a problem for me, but I’m not going to spend irresponsibly just because.
