Dear Sirs, I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit to your salon on 8 February 2024 at 1 pm Kovan Branch. While I appreciate the skills of your staff, I was disturbed to discover several concerning hygiene issues that detracted from my overall experience.
Firstly, I noticed that during my hair treatment, the tools used by the stylist were not changed between clients. This lack of sanitation is unacceptable and poses a risk to the health and safety of your customers. Proper hygiene practices, including the sanitization or use of disposable tools, should be a top priority to prevent the spread of bacteria and infections.
Furthermore, I observed that the apron provided to me was visibly dirty. This not only reflects poorly on the cleanliness of your establishment but also raises concerns about the overall hygiene standards maintained by your staff. Customers expect a certain level of cleanliness when visiting a salon, and the provision of stained attire is both unprofessional and off-putting.
As a loyal customer, I value the services your salon provides, but these hygiene lapses have left me feeling disappointed and concerned. I urge you to take immediate action to address these issues and implement stricter hygiene protocols to ensure the health and satisfaction of all patrons.
I would appreciate a response to this letter outlining the steps you plan to take to rectify the situation and improve hygiene standards at your salon. I hope to see positive changes implemented to restore my confidence in your establishment and continue patronizing your services in the future.

Counter staff should brief first time customer on the process step by step instead of just receiving payment first then ask customer to go up to level 2 for the scalp analysis straight. There are only 2 Therapists at level 2 handling 2 or more customers at the same time.
First, they did a scalp analysis for me by using the probe to scan my scalp part by part then explain that their treatment can help in the oil control and improve in hair growth. To start the scalp treatment, they proceed to apply the pre-made herbal paste on my scalp then start the steaming process for 30mins.
After the steaming is done, they ask you to go down to level 1 to get a queue number for a hair wash. The queue is based on the issued queue number processed by the label machine. Hair wash is done twice to remove the herbal paste off the scalp thoroughly and hair conditioning after that.
After the hair wash is done, they will ask you to sit aside to wait till there is available seat for the hair drying service. The wait is not long but can see that the staff is rushing in the hair drying part as they have many customers to clear so my hair is still wet when the staff said it was done. Read moreI have been frequenting the Kovan outlet for the past 3 years - initially service was very polite and the whites of my hair were a nice deeper copper colour.
However during this year, I noticed that one or two of the staff are quite rough and rushed with the hairwashing. Unfortunately I do not know their names - one is a little plumb with glasses and the other one is quite young and fairly new compared to some of the longer working ones. I reminded her not to get water into my ear but she couldn’t care less. Very rude and rough attitude.
The one that is consistently polite, thorough & good with her hair wash is Eileen or Eleen. In the past, they would be welcoming and even cheerily said their goodbyes and thank yous. None of that anymore. It would be nice if they maintained their standards.
Another problem is the colour of my whites after the treatment. Ever since the salon came up with the appointments for either coloured or non coloured, I realised that my whites were an awful lighter rusty red colour compared to the past when it was deeper copper red. Not sure if they changed their formula but won’t be going again if this is what my whites look like after the visit.
