DISHONEST OUTLET SALES PEOPLE at SUN PLAZA OUTLET!

Saw each box of ondeh-ondeh at $3.60 a box. Also saw that it was at 10% Off, so I told the outlet sales I would like to buy 1 box.

To my surprise, one of the outlet salesperson (an auntie), told me “buy 2 box, get 10% Off.” (And I really thought customers needed to buy 2 boxes to get 10% off.)

Being in a hurry, I paid for 2 boxes & left, only to realise soon after - that there was NOTHING indicated that I needed to buy 2 boxes to get 10% off!!!

So I went back to confront the auntie. I said “your ondeh-ondeh, seems like it’s not indicated that needed to buy 2 to get 10% off.”

And the auntie’s response was: “oh these things come in batches - we sell just use mouth to talk only etc”

WOW!! Seriously?! Resorting to Underhand ‘sales tactics’ like these - just to get people to buy? MISLEADING customers by saying “buy 2 & get 10% off” when there was NOTHING that indicated “2 boxes”!

This is NOT about whether it’s $3.60 a box or $36 a box. Since there was NOTHING indicated about needing to buy 2 boxes to get 10% off, the 10% off could have applied to just ONE box!

VERY unbecoming, & TOTALLY Unexpected POOR Standards!

I certainly didn’t see all these coming from an established brand like Bengawan Solo!!

And in case you’d like to know on the quality of the Ondeh-Ondeh - upon eating the first piece, the Ondeh-Ondeh did NOT taste...

Feeling nostalgic and craving for some traditional kueh kueh ( snacks )? Head down to Bengawan Solo and take your pick. Guarantee to satisfy. However, the prices of the snacks are premium too besides the quality. If you don't mind splurging a little, go ahead and give yourself a treat. They sell a decent variety of cookies, tarts and cakes. The cookies and tarts come in pretty packaging that make great gifts. The pandan chiffon is another one of their signature item. It's soft and smooth chiffon is simply delectable. My overseas partners never fail to leave SG with boxes of this yummy cake. Service at this outlet is passable. The staff is quick to serve the customers that walked in. Please give a 👍if you enjoy this...

Service by a particular staff in the sembawang outlet have a very terrible attitude. Didn’t manage to get her name, young lady with a curly ponytail. Simply ask if she could bag the food into multiple bags nicely, she started showing expression and mumbling under her mask “why so troublesome”. If you are unable to fufill my request, you could have just simply tell me nicely rather than giving such a negative customer...
