I recently visited Iffah Muslimah Hair for a wash, cut, and blow-dry. When booking, I had mentioned in the notes that I would be coming straight from a hike, so my hair would be sweaty.
Upon arriving, I informed the attending staff -Reen that I have eczema accompanied by hair loss and that I am already undergoing treatment at another salon. However, when I removed my hijab, the staff member immediately exclaimed, âTeruknya rambut you!ââand did so loudly. This was not only unprofessional but also unnecessary, especially since this was my first visit, and she had never seen my hair before. She then went on to say that my scalp treatment âwasnât workingâ despite not knowing my progress. In reality, I had only attended two treatment sessions and had paused for three weeks due to travel.
While I understand that selling treatments is part of the business, there is a more respectful way to do soâespecially when dealing with personal and sensitive conditions like hair loss. Rather than listening to my concerns, she repeatedly pointed out my thinning and oily hair before immediately trying to sell me their herbal hair treatment package. I had to remind her that my hair was oily because I had just come from a hike, as I had mentioned in my booking. Interestingly, after washing my hair, she admitted that it looked âmuch betterâ and fuller.
That being said, I do appreciate her advice on suitable hairstyles for thinning hair, and the haircut and styling were satisfactory. However, I left the salon feeling worse than when I entered. A more professional approach when discussing a clientâs hair condition would go a long way. If Iffah Muslimah Hair wants to upsell treatments, they should do so without belittling customers, especially those who are already aware of their condition and seeking care elsewhere.
Additionally, I was asked to write a Google review on the spot while the staff took a picture, which felt forced. Reviews should be written honestly and at the clientâs own discretionânot as a pressured request during the visit.
Overall, I am rating this salon a 2 out of 5. The prices donât feel justifiable for the experience I had. Had the consultation been handled more professionally, I would have rated it higher. Unfortunately, I now regret signing up for their membership.
Edit: their admin team did follow up to have a chat with my experiences. But no tangible follow ups were provided. Rerating...
Read moreBad experience. Learned my lesson... The first and the last. Not rcommended for ladies who love their hair nor my biggest enemy fgs... Had a haircut and a herbal scalp growth treatment.. malaysian lady.
Started with scalp analysis. Very vague. I said i dun want package and she offered me a 3 ala carte treatment (all scalp treatment) with ala carte $58 haircut with wash, which cost 500+ altogether. I said no and just proceed with a simple scalp treatment that cost $168 and a $58 cut wash blow. So ridiculous, treatment also got wash, still want to charge me wash and blow. I thought, maybe its worth it.. but i was wrong!!!! I paid a total $226 for the simplest scalp treatment and the hair cut.... such a horrible haircut in my entire life. Fastest and Ugliest layered haircut ive seen... even my husband haircut takes longer. The way she wash my hair was bad, painful and i dun remember her rinsing the back of my head. And while drying my hair, she was like pulling out the residue from my hair and scalp a few times, show that she did not wash it off properly.
Halfway throughout i gave up, seeing how unprofessional her work is.. before leaving she asked me to leave her a review. I said ok and asked for her name. She asked me to review on the spot and wanted to take a photo of it. Lol WTH??? who does that. I said no and left.. I was so shocked by the whole process that i cried after i left. It was a disaster. A nightmare.. Lucky i did not go through with whatever she was trying to offer , the packages, membership etc im glad did not waste more money... A so-so looking salon, expensive but very unprofessional. So upset such owner would employ unprofessional hairdressers..
I immediately went to another salon to fix my disastrous haircut, including a moisturing hair treatment that cost me $119 with better services and explanation of the treatment and serve me drinks ... the picture taken at the salon that saved me: Before(i made the stylist took a pic after she spray water before cutting) and After(fixed) see for yourself what i meant my ugliest layered.
Originally, I had such a long hair down to the waist. That lady name Rin (ntah betul ke tk - mcm ye-ye) @Iffah Muslimah chopped up my hair like daging kat pasar . So choppy, so chunky. I will not support such businesses... mahal2 nak untung lebih tapi service hancur tak employ a proper worker. U dont even deserve a star. U dont deserve to open...
Read morereally disappointed with the service here despite the 5 star reviews iâve seen. travelled from miles away to this specific outlet only to receive such a nonsense and non-fulfilling service. i made an appointment one week prior, âcreative colouringâ and went on this specific day for the 30% discount for the holiday specials but little did i know the service that i will be receiving is way beyond dissatisfying. upon arrival, was greeted with the what seems like a grumpy/snappy worker because sheâs the only one working today. it was NOT a friendly atmosphere at all but yet i still communicate with her with full respect/gentleness.
when i was seated down, she told me she could not do any of the colouring services i wanted to because 1) they ran out of products 2) sheâs alone. however, i was STILL understanding and empathetic with her situation and said it is fine and settled with a colour i did not even want. but due to the fact iâve already travelled from east to here, i might else well get something done.
i regretted every bit of it. she was so rough and rushed throughout the process because she wanted to attend to other customers. i did not enjoyed it AT ALL it was not peaceful it was terribly rushed.
she dyed my hair for less than 10 minutes and itâs something i couldâve simply done at home. i donât even think she covered all area to be honest.
the aftermath results were expectedly HIDEOUS. i felt like my hair was so much better before i undergo the service. i donât know whatâs her name and to be honest it didnât mattered because all i know for sure i wonât be coming to this salon ever again. worst experience ever.
something she couldâve done: called me upon the reservation and told that due to shortage of manpower, the service could not be fulfilled & postpone to another date where perhaps another worker could do it. anyways the damaged done was $103.
congratulations to this outlet for making my first salon experience the worst and makes me realise that DIY is so much better than this rip off place. if you didnât wanted to work or lazy, just take mc or something than making another life miserable. what a great way to...
