I tried the trial service. I had trouble initially communicating with my assigned hair consultant as I didn't speak Mandarin but there was another staff who kindly translated for me. My consultant was very sweet and explained the process thoroughly :)
However, the staff were not well versed with how wavier or curlier hair types work. Their hair maintenance suggestions (washing with clarifying shampoo twice or once a day) were terrible ideas for naturally curlier hair types as they didn't take into account of curly hair tending to have a drier hair than straight hair because the natural oils from the scalp have a harder time traveling down the hair shaft due to the curl pattern. Towards the end of the treatment, they asked what hair style I wanted and I said, I just wanted my hair dry, no straightening and curls intact. I thought a place providing a luxury hair treatment would know that diffuser is to be used for curlier hair to keep curls intact so I assumed they would use the diffuser attachment. Bad judgement on my part as the hair stylist used the styling comb when drying my hair which caused my curls to straighten. It was a pretty and sleek blowout look but it was not what I wanted - and it took me close to a month to finally get my original curl pattern back.
They also took very long to get the treatment done as they had way more customers than staff who were doing the work. I had to wait with the hair mask on my hair for 45 minutes, longer than the necessary time.
Additionally, the hard selling was unnecessarily extreme. They made it seem like their treatments were the only solution in the world to hair problems. The staff who was doing the translating gave a stern look when I said I won't be buying the package. She repeated her package suggestions coldly and I once again refused. Then, she silently looked at me (initial smile all gone) and waited for a long while, probably a tactic to make me uncomfortable and change my mind. If anything, it made me want to get the package less than I did.
Although the treatment is good, it's only applicable for people with straight Type 1 hair. Jonsson still needs to do more research and training on dealing with...
Ā Ā Ā Read more100% do not recommend. First off, treatment is basic, lacks all the other comforts you can expect from other treatment places Iād been to (ie. massage, infrared treatment, hot oil hair treatment) and trust me Iāve tried quite a few salons located centrally because Iām on a mission to find the best. Lacklustre treatment could be because I was on a trial, so shouldnāt expect too much. Secondly my consultant Carole was incredibly pushy, I get that she has to meet a sales target, but I didnāt feel comfortable at all, especially after the treatment I told her explicitly I was in a rush, and to let me think about it. She immediately got impatient and asked me what concerns I would still have. Iām still trying out different salons, for me, concerns include cost, quality of treatment and of course service. Theyāve failed on all counts, but unfortunately I was pressured into buying a 3 time package, $388. I remember running off after that, stressed about how the card payment took super long to go through and had to wait to sign in a receipt, to make it in time for lunch and other appointments. She callously told me I had an hour to go, why the rush. Lol, of course la, got what you wanted from your customer, thatās all you care about right? Evidently the transaction was sales driven and sheās an inconsiderate person
Considering writing to CASE about hard sell tactics and pushy behavior. If the treatment is good and service reasonable, people will come back. Donāt have to be so hard up please. Will never go back after Iām done w my 3 times.
Probably after they see my review they may make it super hard for me to redeem my package? In which case I definitely will ask CASE to review this salon. Also, english comms is lacklustre there. Will provide updates for sure
(Was not going to write a negative review out of respect for the business but seeing others below experiencing the same horrors I did, thought it best to communicate how...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a pleasant experience at this outlet today. My consultant, Kody, clearly explained to me each step of the procedure and also the condition of my scalp, alongside how the different steps tackle the different issues I have. It was also interesting to hear from her about how out of the protein we take in through food, only 5% of it is channelled towards our hair. It's something I'm interested to learn more about now.
I also learned more about scalp treatments in general. She shared that most people go for 24 sessions to tackle the more pressing scalp issues at hand, before proceeding with monthly maintenance procedures that can either be treatments at the store or procedures that one can do themselves at home.
I was there for 1.5h today. She scanned my scalp, shampooed my hair, applied the protein and steamed my scalp, then used tonic to finish. She scanned my scalp again before explaining the different packages available: $300 per session $220 per session for 10/20 sessions $190 per session for 30 sessions
Each package includes a take-home kit. There is a $300 discount for students for the 10/20/30-session packages, and Atome installment payments are an option too.
I appreciate that there was no hardselling in my experience, so that I can make my own decision about how to move forward with or without this. I read the reviews before my visit and saw some unfortunate experiences shared by other customers, so I made sure to drop the liaison a note about my concern ahead of time. I hope that other customers will get to experience what I did if they visit too!
Thanks for having me for this free trial, and also providing a kit that I can use at home!
If this is something within your budget, perhaps you could consider going for a trial too to see if you enjoy...
