Kordezeva Glava — Local services in Črna na Koroškem

Kordeževa glava or Kordeschkopf in German is the highest point of mountain called Peca. It is simply called "Vrh Pece" ("Peca's summit") by local Slovenes. It is on the border of Slovenia and Austria and the highest summit in the region. It is a broad gravel plateau surrounded with meadows full of flowers in late spring. It reaches 2126 m.a.s.l., there is a stone that marks the summit, a metal model of icepick with hiker's stamp, a round panel with engraved visible landmarks and ultimately a great 360° view with Julian Alps making it's most significant part. There are numerous trails to Vrh Pece. I used the one that starts from Mežice, goes westward to the mountain hut and ultimately to the summit. It is a classic, exhausting hiking path through the forest. After the hut it is possible to get to the summit by an easy path or by a more difficult trail along the rocky, exposed slope partially secured with steel cable. Dostop do Kordezeve glave zahteva nekaj kondicije. Pot je ves cas izjemno lepo urejena in oznacena, se pa tudi ves cas zmerno, na dolocenih predelih, strmo vzpenja. Od Doma na Peci do vrha Pece je pot dostopna v 1,5h, za tiste z vec postankov, ki se morajo nadihati ob tem pa uzivajo v krasnih razglefih ves cas ob poti, pa na vrh pridejo v cca.2h. Vse je odvisno od posameznika. Na vrhu cudovit razgled 360°, ki jemlje dih. Peca je nam blizu in čudovita gora. Lepi razgledi in ponuja tudi dokaj adrenalinski vzpon preko južne stene, ki je opremljen z lepo vzdrževanimi jeklenicami. Sestop pa lahko opravimo po pobočju vzhodne planote, ki je primerna za vsakogar ki ima vsaj nekaj planinsko pohodniške kondicije.
