My wife and i booked a 7 day Hunting Safari and a 10 day Guided Tour in South Africa and have just returned to the States. At 72 years young, I have visited many countries and hunted on a few continents and most of my experiences have been very rewarding. This trip has, however, exceeded all others to date. This outfitter is a family affair, with the entire Moolman family focused on providing an exceptional experience and they have done that and more.

The lodge is a beautiful stone building, constructed by the owners with field stone from the property, and situated with a commanding view of the Great Karoo and the mountains beyond. The accomodations were clean and comfortable and the meals, prepared by Charne, the owners' daughter in law, were delicious, with beef, lamb, chicken and exceptional cuts of game served with fresh salads, vegetables, home made bread and delicious deserts. Cocktails and good conversation started every evening gathering and excellent coffee around the fireplace ended every day.

The hunting was challenging but not over hard, with plenty of animals to choose from, including some exceptional trophies. The Professional Hunter, Pierre Jr., was truly PROFESSIONAL and worked hard to insure my success. I had selected 5 plains game for my hunt and accomplished my goal after which we started our tour. We visited many parks and special areas, slept in a log cabin on the coast of the Indian ocean, a tent on a raised platform among the animals, a luxury apartment in a high-rise on the beach at Cape Town and other exciting places. We saw lions kill their dinner, other lions mating and mating again, saw 4 of the Big 5 really up close on several occasions and so many other animals within feet of us that we list count.

Pierre and Annalie Moolman were the perfect hosts and tour guides and showed us the country they love, with attention to all the details that make for a truly wonderful experience. We have become good friends and will surely be back for another visit. We can not recommend them to highly.

I can't say enough about Sun Africa Safaris! Charne's meals were fabulous! Great accommodations, fun, professional, skilled PHs. I know its said a lot but its true that the Moolmans and crew made us feel like family from the time they picked us up at the airport until they dropped us off 10 days later. OH, and the hunting...the hunting more than satisfied my childhood dreams! Epic Kudu hunting! I am already planning a return trip...
