Beautiful nature at its Best, Value for Money, Very Neat and Clean, not too crowded, a totally relaxing experience. We went there last weekend for a day trip ( Hiking+ Picnic). R 80 per adult. Advance booking recommended and it is very easy. Fees to be paid at the entrance by cash. The booking process was easy and professional. Around 4 km of mud road- condition not too bad, we have seen small cars driving there too. Very easy to find the place. There was a very warm welcome by the owners. they explained the rules, areas , hiking root etc. They also allocated us a beautiful picnic place near the river bed. Place is very safe, so we can leave the picnic gadgets there and go for hiking. the river was over flowing, so they arranged a temporary bridge for us. The hiking was very nice. A lot of greenery, well marked. Not the easiest hiking, some climbing required, my 8 year old could do it easily. A lot of great photo spots, river ponds, big rocks. When we arrived back, the picnic spot was arranged with table, cushions, chairs,.. really UNBELIVABLE service for the R 80 per head we paid in total. Toilets are very clean, there is a big swimming pool, kitchen, washing facilities, we can braai or cook at our picnic areas. All well arranged. The closest shop is 7 km away, so please bring what ever you need. Cellphone reception is very poor which is a blessing. overall very rejuvenating experience and we will definitely go back there. What an amazing camping site. Two camping sites without any power connections are lacated next to a kitchen unit, so don't concern yourself to much with cooler space or gas as this is all taken care of. One of the two spaces is located right next to the river and is situated under an amazing canopy of trees. The grond was a bit soft for the tent pegs, bit the site was so well maintained. The camping spot has fire place and a steel table on each stand so you might not even need to bring your own table along.

Traveling across the river on a canoe supplier by the campsite is the start of a short hiking route that will take you up the hillside. The route is about 4.5km to 5 km long, bit you can ask the caretaker and he can direct you on a bit of a longer route that will take you on a 7km hike. The hike is really well indicated with except for the pool by the river that was mentioned, but which has no clear marking.

The rest of the site has camping for caravans and more tents with power connections. Even though the ablutions are a bit small they are really spotless and hot showers. The owners are incredibly friendly, caring and helpful and they really take pride in the place so feel free to introduce yourself and let them show you around.

The only complaint perhaps is that the road on the way to the campsite has one or two really bad patches. Take care if your ground clearance is low, especially when rainy.

A very tranquil and peaceful camping site with 5km hiking trail! We had an amazing weekend at the camp site with the dogs!

We arrived around 6pm when the rain was pouring heavily with lightning, and we were really worried about setting up the tents. However, we were welcomed by Hettie's husband (I think his name was Neil) who offered us wine, allowed us to stay inside a building and even offered us to use his gas braai while we waited for the rain to stop. He also helped us set up the tent!

All the dogs on the campsite were very well behaved, and there was even a resident dog to guide us on the hike.

Very clean ablution with hot water, clean braai, friendly staff, and the provision of the chairs and table was amazing!

Also got to meet Hettie, a very friendly nice lady, and she told us that vodacom tower will be built this year, so there will be signal and atm facilities available in the future!
