Calitzdorp Hot Springs — Local services in George

I went to calitz dorps springs for a week the service was horrible the living space was even worse the insects was terrifing we couldn't sleep and so we when to go and report it at the office and there response was they can't do anything about it the day we got there, there was no towels in the bathroom not even a hand towel I got side plates and no dinner plates I got one toilet roll for the entire week for a four sleeper my bin only had garbage bags in that day of arrival and never again and while we were there no cleaners came to clean our house like at other HOLIDAY RESORTS we didn't even get that small shampoo, conditioner, soap,body wash, sugar and teabags like at all the other HOLIDAY RESORTS I when down to the office to tell them that the windows don't close properly and the baboons are running around like crazy but yet again there response was there is nothing they can do about it so Sunday morning at 11am the baboons got into my chalet and destroy it and ate all my food and shit all over the place and jumped on the beds so I when down to the office to inform them what happened and they should send cleaners to come n clean my chalet they said there is no cleaners available they are done working bare in mind it's 11am on a sunday morning what holiday resorts don't have cleaners aren't they supposed to work like till 5pm when i asked them for a other chalet they said they dont have any available so I had to go and sleep by my sister on the floor but i paid for 4 sleeper for 4 nights but i only slept in my chalet 3 nights n there pool is dirty n green n stink like pee n only get cleaned once a week they said at the office they gna call Daryl n hear by him what they gona do about my situation but until now I never heard from them and I am...

Just spent a week at the resort and was so disappointed in the venue, you can see once upon a time it was awesome, but it is so badly managed, the pools are in a terrible state, green and dirty, what ever you do , do not stay in the mountain chalets , they have a huge problem with baboons breaking in and management just says nothing they can do, but at least put bars on the windows or employ people to be on look out , our group of friends hired out 18 yes 18 chalets, and so many people had things wrong , from showers not working, to windows broken or handles (which the baboons get in) I had 2 chalets and one of them you couldn’t use any taps or plugs or you would get a shock😭, hardly any security as there is a day camper side and the resort side, which the day campers just walk in and out. Squash courts are trashed, the weather is extremely hot, but you either have a fan in the lounge or the bedroom not both, I would highly recommend selecting another holiday destination, was wonderful to be with family and friends but when you friends room gets absolutely trashed by baboons and the resort doesn’t even offer to help clean it never mind new bedding , it puts a damper on the moment,it’s run apparently by the local municipality who are doing a horrendous job. Definitely won’t be returning, and wasn’t cheap either, spent almost R 20 000 on 2 x 4 sleepers by the pool...

Ons het oor die nuwejaar ‘n week by Calitzdorp Hot Springs deur gebring en hiermee my beste poging tot ‘n objektiewe resensie vir toekomstige reisigers se oorweging:

Sekuriteit: Vriendelik Moes inteken Geen bevestiging van bespreking. Hoewel ek tydens aansoek ‘n staanplek moes kies, blyk dit nie van toepassing te wees nie en jy kan staan waar jy wil.

Staanplekke: Daar blyk twee klasse van staanplek te wees: A) Grasperk waar daar slegs vyf kragpunte is B) 20 genommerde krag staanplekke.

Ons het op nommer 5 gestaan en my terugvoer rondom hierdie en sooortgelyke staanplekke is as volg:

almal redelik gelyk rommel verstrooi van vorige kampeerders min tot geen gras op byna alle staanplekke. ons staanplek se kragboks het nie gewerk nie en ons het gekoppel op staanplek 13 se boks. Onderhoud het wel ons koord onder die pad begrawe na hulle vas gestel het die boks werk nie. byna al die bokse lyk of hulle uit die 70’s dateer en ek glo nie dit sal ‘n waardige COC van ‘n bekwame elektrisiën ontvang nie.

Ablusieblokke: slegs 2/3 van die blokke was oop vir gebruik met die 3de omring deur ‘n band wat dit kompleet soos ‘n misdaadtoneel laat lyk het. Die 2 wat beskikbaar was, was enige iets tussen walglik, aaklig, horibaal en enige ander negatiewe byvoeglike naamwoord waaraan jy kan dink. daar is min tot niks waterdruk. dit was vuil! Jy wil nie sonder skoene ingaan nie en jy wil byna aan geen oppervlak raak nie. om van stortgordyne, spieëls en toiletrolhouers te praat is nie eens deel van die gesprek nie. Ons probeer eers vas stel watter storte het krane en watter se toilet deure maak sonder skop oop of kan sluit.

Swembaddens grasperke kort en netjies skaakvermaak en afdakkies is aangenaam. swembad handvatsels is los en dus ‘n gevaar vir die wat daarvan moet gebruik maak. hoë vlakke van vermoedelik alge is onaangenaam en skep ‘n swak indruk.

Winkel voorraad van byna alles, insluitend onwettige sigarette. Blyk uitgekontrakteur wees. Diegene wat daar werk dra nie uniform nie en is in ‘n aparte hut langs die ingnagspad. blyk duidelik ‘n ‘spaza’ tipe winkel te wees vir dagbesoekers.

Algemene bestuur geen beheer oor dagbesoekers of kampeerders wat raas, selfs tydens die onbeskaafste van ure. swak beplanning om swembaddens 07h00 die oggend tydens ‘n vakansie te moet dreineer met ‘n petrolaangedrewe pomp. hoewel asblikke gereeld skoon gemaak word, word braaie nie.

Opsomming: Gegewe die ligging, grote en fasiliteite het die oord die potensiaal om met enige ATKV of Forever oord te kan meeding, maar sonder die regte bestuur sal dit nooit gebeur nie. Daar is geen belangstelling om kampeerders terug te lok of te belê in hul belange. In sy huidige vorm is dit niks minder as ‘n dagbesoeker se dagdronk...
