We missed the Wild Oats Market as we arrived after 12pm on Saturday, 7 Jan 2023. My husband and I love the Garden Route so didnt mind exploring Mosaic. We felt disappointed at the attitudes of two particular vendors at the market. We sampled the corn cake which was tasteless as the attitude of the woman selling it. We proceeded to buy pancakes and when approaching the stall the women 'possibly owner' instead turned her body and spoke at length to someone who seem like her friend. At this point I told my husband lets leave as this woman clearly dnt want to serve us. We proceeded to a stall selling coffee and beans 'Slow Roasted' and was swept away by the server's lovely, warm hospitality. We later went for lunch at the coffee shop affiliated to this stall and had the best gluten free cake and got great service. We spent tons of money at various stalls and will definetly avoid those 2 stalls when next we visit the market. We got back to our accomodation in the Wilderness and exchanged our experience with fellow travellors who low and behold had a very bad experience with a server whose attitude was rude and disgusting also at Mosaic market same day. SNAP!.
Yet, to be fair i do not cast all vendors with same experience. Most we came across were friendly and gave only excellence. Those two ladies , pull up your socks. There is no place for racism.
Let me put my rating in context, the 2 star are for those two ladies. It would be good if individual vendors can be rated...
Β Β Β Read moreVery good Flea market. There are a large number of stalls. They sell South-African crafts, hand-made gifts, arts products clothes, leather products, souvenirs, cermics products, fruits, vegetables, flowers, meat, natural cosmetics, natural soaps, a lot of cooked local food stalls, and others. There are a lot of sitting tables where you can sit, relax, and enjoy trying a large selection of local food. This market has plenty of car parking. It is usually very crowded on Saturday morning (it is open on Saturday morning only 8:00AM-12:00 noon, and is closed all other times). By short, this market (with the adjacent farmers market {Wild Oats farmers market} are the largest and the most-visited farmers market in the...
Β Β Β Read moreThere was a diversity of stalls and awesome food on offer...which makes writing this post so disappointing as there was complete lack in observing COVID protocols. A few guests were walking without their masks and each food stall I went to (a total of 4, which I could name), either one of the attendee did not have on a mask, or some had their masks under their nose, chin or not on at all. I'm sorry but just because we are in level 1 or because many consumers don't have a problem buying from these stalls doesn't mean we shouldn't be trying to make everyone feel safe. I was genuinely looking forward to a day out in the open but just felt anxious and severely...
