Those that are familiar with “The Good Chef” Chinese chain in JHB know what is expected from a beef chow mien and sweet and sour pork meal. I ordered this meal and had to firstly order extra rice as it’s not standard with the sweet and sour pork. If you order sweet and sour pork as is you’ll get just pork dumplings and a separate sauce that’s very runny. No carrots , or veggies and no rice. The “steak chow mien “ seems to be missing the main ingredient known as steak. Very little veggies and beef and mostly noodles. The rice I ordered for the sweet and sour pork as an extra was not the long grained white “basmati “ type rice I’m accustomed to, it was more like “tastic “. All in all I’m not impressed and won’t...

One of my favourite places. My husband and I have not left the house since the middle of March last year due to being at high risk for Covid and have not had takeaways since then. It's almost a year now BUT last week we decided to order our very favourite thing, sweet and sour pork, from our favourite place, Mr Foo. Delicious as usual. Great portion size. And while I was picking it up I also stocked up on Wonton wrappers and a new bamboo steamer. They have quite a large selection of spices, sauces, wraps and equipment if, like me, you like trying your hand at some Chinese and Thai cooking at home. Also, if you message them on Facebook, they are really good at...

I was greeted by a very cheerful friendly lady. The store was full but she served me first because l had pre ordered and my food was ready. She double checked and then called her husband to help me carry my order. Lots of banter. He will carry everything. She said he will pay if he drops it. Adorable people. Oh the food. đŸ€©đŸ˜‹đŸ€©The food was excellent. Not oily. So delicious AND the honey sesame chicken was/is heavenly. The portions are huge. We over ordered but we're looking forward to leftovers for lunch...

I hate leaving a bad review, but that was pretty laughable! The steak chow mein was actually quite tasty, until my wife munched on a well cooked fly! The egg fried rice was super undercooked and still hard, and the kids rejected their seaseme chicken as it was way too sweet. To top it off, the bow ties were wildly stale, probably from yesterday. At least the portions were generous, but was really hoping for a better meal, sorry Mr Foo

Best Chinese food I've ever had, portions are very generous and well worth the price. My favourite is the steak chow mein as well as their sushi! While you wait they have a shop filled with all sorts of asian groceries for you to browse. Will definitely be ordering again!
