It has been three years and still no change to the GPS coordinate given for Oribi Gorge which is wrong. This is now a 2025 edit.
Oribi Gorge is pinned in a river which is not accessible and takes you through private property.
Type Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve for the correct pin for the nature reserve.
Old post 2022: Oribi Gorge is lovely but Google maps takes the public on a route through our private property (farm) and to the edge of a cliff face. The marker for the Oribi Gorge is in a section of the Mzimkulwana river that cannot be accessed by road at all as it is at a base of a cliff. But if the marker or pin was at the Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve site then the public would enjoy a lovely scenic journey without trespassing. Please, please, please can Google Maps correct this as per our many, many requests...
Read moreThis place is definitely worth visiting even if it was quite the drive for us. The restaurant was great do try the lime milkshake and a filling delicious breakfast to get your day underway. The drive to do the zip line was interesting with sighting of zebra, giraffe and different buck species plus Wildebeest. The zip line of 4.5km is worth every cent we had a party of 6 and it took just under 2 hrs. If you not scared of heights? walking across the suspension bridge is a must. The views suspended above the canopy of trees is spectacular. The walk to the caves at Hell's gate will give your legs a good work...
Read moreThe scenery was absolutely breathtaking, getting that close to the buck and other wild life was amazing. The suspension bridge makes you weak at the knees but it's a definite for adrenaline junkies. The drive around and down to the lake was challenging in my Ford Ranger but exciting. The meals at the restaurant (I had the venison curry) was prepared for a King, compliments to the chef. The overall hospitality of the staff from front desk to boom gate security was exceptionally professional. I will recommend this destination to be on everybody's bucket list...
