Milky Lane Malvern — Local services in KwaZulu-Natal

I visited the store on 20 Sep 2025. The service was atrocious. There was a lady behind the till whom stared at us as we sat at the table. My daughter walked to the counter and asked for menus, she was told to TAKE THEM!

We ordered waffles and hot chocolate. The waffles were thin and dry, as if they had used less batter. We had asked for cream but were given a disgusting dessert cream of sorts. We received the hot chocolate but no sugar. We requested sugar but the lady behind the till started to argue with another employee as neither wanted to bring it to our table.

It was such a disappointment. We will never visit a Milky Lane again. The service was disgusting, the food served was absolutely disappointing, distasteful and not up to standard. Employ people whom want to work and who can uphold the image of the store!

The staff need to be trained in customer service. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Go to Spur across the road for delicious ice cream , fresh cream...

Went to the counter and a was told that someone would come and take our order at the table. We waited over 20 minutes for someone to come take our order, but no one came and we went to the counter and they apologised and took our order. We waited another 20 minutes and still no waffle. We went to the counter again and they said they forgot about it and there was a bit of confusion. The manager proceeded to blame us for not calling him and telling him about the wait. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT. We ended up not even receiving the order....

I know that this branch has just opened but I had to state my experience and delight with Milky Lane Malvern Park staff and service. They were amazing from start to finish and due to me having such terrible experiences at various milky lane branches over the past few years I gave Malvern Park a chance and they took me back to my childhood as to how ice cream should be served and taste.
