The Parks Shop @ Skukuza Rest Camp — Local services in Mbombela

Was great when we were there in October 2017.

I actually ended up loosing my wallet in the store had well over R1'000 in cash in it with my bank cards. I asked the clerk at the front if someone had found it. They ended up returning it to me with NOTHING missing.

Absolutely loved their liqueur and wild game meat (raw for a braai/BBQ) selection. All the food is reasonably priced. The variety of the food was great, made it perfect to enjoy a braai in the evenings.

In regards to the gifts, I will admit that they are quite pricey, as they are aimed at tourists (like me :-D). So it will be rather difficult to buy gifts if you are getting payed in Rand.

In conclusion; The staff are all very friendly in all of the Rest Camp Stores. General groceries re very affordable. Liqueur is quite cheap as well. Gifts are a bit pricey

The Parks Shop within the Skukuza Rest Camp is a go-to if you are looking to do some shopping. As the flagship store within the Kruger National Park, it has an impressive selection of products to cater to every need. Its products range from fresh and frozen items to camping gear, souvenirs, and even a selection of local craft beers. There is definitely something for everyone, and you are likely to find what you are looking for, or at least a good alternative. The service on the other hand would benefit from an improvement. The staff could be friendlier and more efficient, and that's the only reason I didn't score the shop a 5/5. Within the Skukusa Rest Camp is a fair sized shop where you can purchase drinks, snacks and other foods for cooking and consumption for those staying at Skukusa. It is considerably larger than the shop we found at Lower Sabie Rest Camp.

Food selection is surprisingly wide with fair variety. However, if you are staying for extended time and wanting to cook/braai numerous meals than you'll still do better to stock up at proper supermarkets before entering the park.
