Had such an amazing time today at SANCCOB. We did a in-depth tour with Sim. His efficiency and effort was outstanding. He was so informative and helpful. Our overall experience was really great. He took us behind the scenes and showed us how they rehabilitate the coastal birds and took us around the sanctuary. He explained to us in detail how everything impacts our coastal birds. You can even get down and dirty and make the baby penguins their fish smoothies and cut sardines! You could tell he was so passionate about what he was doing. I highly recommend paying the extra fee to go do the behind the scenes in depth tour with Sim! After seeing the penguins and other coastal birds you can relax with a complimentary muffin and choice of beverage. We adopted a baby penguin and named it as...

I am a member of National Sea Rescue Institute in Jeffreys Bay and have been involved in sea bird and mammal rescue for more than 10 years. The stranded sea birds we capture around the Jeffreys Bay coastline are all shipped to SANCCOB in Port Elizabeth. Whenever I am in the area for a dive, I like to pop in and visit them. They do such amazing work and are very professional. Like NSRI, they are also dependent on public donations and goodwill to operate. You can support them by donating, or adopting an 🐧 or one of the other birds. Do yourself a favor and visit them next time you are...

They are doing important rescue and rehabilitation work here and they had just done a release so there werent as many penguins. You can get to see the 8 year olds being fed and to see pens with moulting adolescents and blues. There is also a section for the icu patients. I found the education room or info displays really good. I had a lovely guide on my tour. It is a nice addition to to the walk to the light house. Remember if you want to walk by the lighthouse you need a permit which you get at the hotel by the security boom as...
