My husband an i certainly did not enjoy our stay this this hotel. It is over-rated and over priced. We stayed in room 56 which was like living in the 1980's. No internet in rooms. Everything was very dated, and dirty and dusty. The curtains and carpets needed a washing urgently, that goes for the lounge furniture as well. The linen was totally discoloured. Not sure if was cream or white. I found a living worm on my duvet cover. Took a visual recording. From our observation it was clearly apparent that preferential treatment was afforded to overseas guests and citizens of the advantaged community. The lunch time manger (chef) did not seem to care that the food ran out or the fact that we are Hindu and do not consume certain foods. He was arrogant in his response to my humble questions. Cultural intolerance and a lack of empathy was displayed by him. Yet we pay the same price as all other patrons. The front desk and query personnel seemed like they did not enjoy their careers. No smile or courtesy - retraining is necessary. The so called porter is actually the security persons, who leave their stations to assist those of the advantaged race group and left us without assistance, although we checked in before them. The furniture is old and smelly. I did not appreciate the manager enquiring if we having a good stay whilst we having dinner. This was inconsiderate. A more appropriate time could have been organised. Here you pay more for the location than any other comfort. The hotel should not be 4 star rated in my opinion. Everything needs an upgrade. Will not go back!! No value for money. Caters more for dollar and pound patrons.

My wife and I had the privilege to spend our 25th wedding anniversary at Champagne Castle over the long weekend of 21-24 September 2018. What a perfect location! We had a wonderful time. Special thanks to Vaughn, Lungi and the team who made our dinner on the 22nd extra special. Also to Emmanuel for the hike. He is a knowledgeable guide and a great photographer. Great location, great value for money. We will definitely return one day. Walter and Tracey

We had a lovely stay at this hotel for my husbands 40th even so that we were planning on staying over in the summer with the entire family. Unfortunately our opinion changed. We arrived back home the Monday afternoon. Tuesday morning i realized i forgot my jacket in the room i emailed the hotel asap if we can arrange to courier it back to me i didnt hear anything back so i phoned only to hear from housekeeping that they didnt find anything in the room and only one lady cleaned the room. So i double checked the house the car nothing so i phoned again to tell them in what closet it was what color hanger even on what side of the closet. The thing that upsets me the most is that they didnt apologized all i got was "this lady has been worki g for us for 30 years and she would not steal" and making me feel like im lying about forgetting my clothes... because i think you are a boutique and will refund me my R2000 favourite jacket? 🤔🙄 i still haven't heard anything back after a week after numerous emails. Still no apology...
