Absolutely incompetent service. I had booked a couple of ebikes for a full day. When we got to the place (a small shed on the premises of Lanzerac Estate) there was no one there, so one of the staff of Lanzerac has advised us to get help at the reception. The reception tried to get in touch with the rental company on 5 different numbers, however, all calls went to voicemail and we could not reach them. We were ready to leave but upon further inspection there were a couple of bikes standing outside of this shed with the bike lock code being displayed on a different bike lock. Luckily, we noticed this and our day was not completely ruined, but a notice of this would have been helpful (there had been absolutely no personal outreach from the company). As we went on our route, 3/4 of the way through one the tires on one of the bikes burst. Looking closely we noticed that this was not even due to it being pierced but due to it being so worn out there was no relief left on the tire which was supposed to be for off road terrain. This tire should have been changed a long time ago. Thankfully, we had service and managed to contact someone from the company who sent someone out to get us. We were stranded in the middle of nowhere on the side of the road in the burning sun for an hour with the driver saying he'd be there in 10-15 minutes, or that he was "around the corner". Finally, we had run out of patience and told the company we are leaving the bikes locked up and getting a taxi back. Just as we were leaving a man rode up on a bicycle (no car), however, we just wanted to get home as quickly as possible at that point and were expecting a truck to pick us and the ebikes up. We had a fantastic experience and a beautiful day with the Vinebikes crew. Many thanks to our superstar guide Louise. She was able to pivot when we turned up and Steve informed her at the last minute he was unable to cycle (due to back pain). Without hesitation, Louise made it her priority to coordinate an alternate plan, ensuring he could meet us at Jonkershoek and hike along with us at his own pace. Louise is a wealth of information regarding the history, flora and fauna of the region. We were impressed by her experience, kindness and easy going nature throughout the tour. As an added bonus we were joined by Charl, a social media and photography expert on a 'work mission' to capture some great action shots. We enjoyed the beauty of the surroundings and interesting discussions from a very capable team.

We booked this e-bike tour with our family of 6 and we enjoyed every second of it. Guide Jason is the best, he is very kind, funny, and tells you a lot about the region and local life in South-Africa. You visit 2 wine farms (Starck Conde + Rustenberg), where especially Starck Conde is magnificent. Located between the hills with a wine tasting spot on the water.
