Long Tom Pass — Local services in Thaba Chweu Local Municipality

Last time the Long-Tom cannon was used was here at the battle of the longtom pass during the Anglo-Boer war.

Beautiful winding road takes you past this bit of history and you can see why it would have been strategically important to hold this high ground. To be able to fire canons deep into the valley would have given anyone controlling the pass a definative advantage.
