This trip was just one lovely surprise after another- Came to get my Green Card in support of conservation. The staff at the office were super efficient and courteous. Despite the constant influx of people, they kept it very fluid and organized- I was done and out in less than 5 minutes. Pro tip- Get the form completed and all documents on hand before you go- you can get the forms from Shanell at Newlands forest Conservation Office ππ And then more Beautiful Surprises.. further up the path, a historical building from 1808. And then, little bit further up, the Tokai Arboretum- the first in SA, established 1885. And then, through the arboretum, the path to the Elephant's Eye Cave. 10 minutes walking along the trail and you'll the best views of the Cave.. And understand why it's called the Elephant's Eye- you really see the Elephant clearly from here. But, to hike to the cave, it's better and shorter through Silvermine π Oh.. and the Green Card is only R 175 for SA ID holders with 2 passports and a proof o residence.. allows you 12 entries to the parks around Cape town, with or without others π I'm a card-carrying conservationist now...
