This was my second time on this tour. I went solo in February and had a fantastic experience. This time I was with a friend. It turned out we were the only ones on the tour, but it was still an amazing time! Hannah was amazing! Very warm and friendly, plus informative! After the bbq, we were supposed to go somewhere for fried foods but the place ended up being closed for Chuseok. Hannah gave us two options, bingsu (korean dessert) or jokbal (pig trotters) and my friend and I both voted yes to pig trotters. It's not something I would have tried on my own but very much wanted to try. The place we went to was great and we tried two different types, a spicy, and a non-spicy. Both were delicious! We were also given some sort of soup as "service" along with some sikhye, a sweet korean rice drink (that I happen to love). The owner was so happy at the end of the night she gave us her card and asked us to come again! Our "dessert" was fried chicken and beer and we had a great time just sitting and chatting with Hannah. By the end of the night she felt like a close friend! Highly recommend this tour for both solo travellers and pairs/groups. Food is amazing and guides are great! Shout out to Hannah for going above and beyond and just being a...
Read moreLate review - did the Ultimate Korean BBQ Experience lunch tour with chicken & beer add-on on 11/15 with Ron. Fantastic tour! Apparently the lunch option is new, and some of the restaurants they use aren’t typically open that early, but our guide cobbled together a nice selection for BBQ, pancakes, and finally chicken and beer. We appreciated the ability to customize (though we largely told Ron to use his imagination, and he obliged with some more exotic kimchi and spicy fried chicken), and enjoyed the historical and cultural tidbits he offered. Also, I personally enjoyed the lack of crowds at lunch compared to dinner. And of course, everything was delicious. Recommended if you enjoy local food but don’t know...
Read moreAwesome tour, led by Joe, through some of Seoul’s most out-of-the-way but deliciously different eateries. Not only did we learn how to include kimchi in our BBQ, but also had a chance to experience Korean drinking etiquette first hand. An epic evening, and one that has placed “take a local food tour” at the top of all future holiday to-do lists. If you’re even remotely considering this tour, just go ahead and book it, you won’t be disappointed.
