Daegu International Airport (TAE) — Local services in Daegu

Literally one of the worst airports I've ever had the misfortune to use, and I live in Daegu so I'm forced to use it regularly!! Firstly, despite Daegu having an extensive metro network, inexplicably it does not connect to the airport meaning you have to get an always overcrowded bus to get there. If you have an early flight there are zero accommodation options nearby and public transport doesn't run early enough to get you here on time. Sleeping at the airport also isn't an option as it closes overnight. Once here, the facilities are awful! The automated check in machines are never working, there aren't enough seats for the amount of people stick waiting for check in desks to open and you have the option on one 7/11 or donuts / ice cream for food. I travel a lot so I have a card for accessing airport lounges but they won't let you in until you have a boarding card! One through security you have a duty free shop and a single coffee shop (with no dedicated seating) while you sit around waiting to board. Please guys if you see it never ever use this daegu airport if you have no korean visa and use it as transfer. I use t way air small airline and it even checked carry on luggage and get money from it and even asking water was asking money to pay. With cats in hand, I asked the security guard where the quarantine office was. They did not know the word "quarantine". I showed them a website with the Korean sign for "Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency". The guard sent to me the human quarantine area and the office was freaking out that I was bringing cats in.

So the Animal and Plant Q area is to the right down the hall after entering the airport. There isn't a sign sticking out. Walk towards the Hotel and you'll see the Q office.
