My templestay at Lotus Lantern International Meditation Center on Ganghwado Island was such a peaceful and rewarding experience. I joined the cooking class where we made traditional Korean dishes using fresh, local ingredients—many grown right at the temple—and it turned out to be a great way to connect with the other participants, who were a lovely mix of locals and internationals. The schedule included meditation sessions, a tea ceremony, and monastic practices that felt both grounding and eye-opening. Read moreIt was a very nice temple stay ... they have shuttle bus to pick participants in nearest bus terminal, but must call them. Experienced waking up 3:50am for morning ceremonies, calligraphy, played moktak instrument, 108 prostrations, and very useful meditation techniques... You will see a scholar's tomb during old dynasty along the walking meditation route...we saw a bahy snake too, coz we walk in small portion of the forest... 3hr away from Suwon. Rooms are clean, with AC, fresh new beddings on the floor for sleeping, all temples are like that btw...Sometimes they have free temple stay program like this one I joined...

From the first moment I felt calm and welcome.
The staff is kind and helpful. The food is fresh, tasty and made with love. Every meal felt special and nourishing. The rooms are clean, simple and comfortable. Everything is well taken care of and just right for rest and meditation.
I left feeling refreshed, calm and very grateful. I highly recommend this place and hope to return...
