Gamaksan — Local services in Paju-si

Gamaksan is a good day hike within driving distance from Seoul. Although the surrounding views aren't particularly noteworthy, there is some Korean War history spots on the mountain, and on a clear day you can see as far into North Korea as the city of Kaesong, which is pretty cool. Awesome hike but have to have your own car and drive from Goyang/Seoul area. Because it is far out, tends not to be crowded. The views are stunning. The hike up is pretty steep, I would recommend wearing good hiking shoes or trail runners. The hiking up Gamaksan was not too challenging as there were steps and directions were clear. However there were a few seniors in the group and they had found it a bit difficult going up. Nonetheless, we were all rewarded with good mountain mood, the waterfall and suspension bridge were simply mesmerizing.
