Gamaksan is a good day hike within driving distance from Seoul. Although the surrounding views aren't particularly noteworthy, there is some Korean War history spots on the mountain, and on a clear day you can see as far into North Korea as the city of Kaesong, which is pretty cool. However there were a few seniors in the group and they had found it a bit difficult going up.
