Do check the weather beforehand via their official website. There is a link to view the live webcam of the pavilion on top of the cable car ride. I followed a tour and went on a day which happened to be very cloudy, visibility was very poor.

Ice chain for shoes, preferred to be worn, can be rented at the pavilion at the top of the cable car ride. It cost about 5,000 won. Hiking shoes was helpful to walk on the icy paths though I do see some people wearing sneakers up there.

There is a queue to go down the mountain via cable car which can be long (1-2h) especially over the weekends and public holiday. Going up, you would sit together with the group you are with in each cabin. Coming down, they would mix in other people to fill up the seats as much as possible.

Tickets cost 20,000won per adult. On the website it says that reservation is required during weekends/peak period. Went on a weekday and bought tickets over the counter, the ticket staff asked for local telephone number during the purchase which was perplexing (overcame it as the tour guide provided his number).

Views up the mountain could have been amazing if the weather was better. Would...
