Cala Sa Sabolla is not an easy beach to get to—but that’s part of the charm. A highly recommended stop as part of a hike or run from Cadaqués.

On the Cap de Creus lighthouse trail, this small cove is wild and quiet. It’s usually empty before 10 a.m., then gradually sees a few hikers or small boats anchored near the buoys.

The walk down is steep and rocky, so proper shoes are recommended, and be sure to bring water—the hike can take up to 40 minutes from town. Once you arrive, you’re rewarded with clear water, dark volcanic rocks, and a real sense of being far from everything.

It’s manageable for kids over 8–10 and for anyone comfortable with steep inclines. If you’re up for the hike and looking for a peaceful swim, it’s one of the most beautiful and untouched spots on the Costa Brava.

Go early, pack what you need, check the weather forecast...

Beautiful stone beach near the lighthouse about a 45 minute walk from town. The trail down is on the town side of the bay, not near the stairs you can see on the lighthouse side. The descent is steep but not dangerous in decent shoes. Flip-flops are not recommended. The snorkeling is very good when the water is calm. Buoys keep boats away from the beach. The beach is best visited when there is light wind or if the wind is from the south or west. This is one of the Cadaques beaches with a naturist tradition and there will frequently be a number of people bathing nude. Keep up the tradition! The mojito boat services the beach occasionally, but other than that there are...

Bellesa pura ❤️
