In the increasingly vibrant and varied culinary landscape, one restaurant rises above the crowd, serving not only an unforgettable meal but also unparalleled vistas. This review offers an insider's look into my delightful experience.
From the first step inside the charming eatery, the quality of the cuisine was immediately evident. The freshness and vibrant flavors of the food were paramount, reflecting the genuine passion for cooking and dedication to the quality of the ingredients. Every bite was a symphony of flavors, a gastronomical tour de force that leaves you craving for more.
In the midst of their bustling service, the staff maintained a level of friendliness that was truly commendable. Even though they were visibly rushed off their feet, their commitment to providing a welcoming atmosphere didn't waver, a testament to their dedication to superb customer service.
Making reservations might be a bit of a challenge due to the restaurant's popularity, with bookings managed by a third party online. The establishment's high demand led to a long wait time of about 2 hours under the hot sun. But even then, the general consensus among patrons was that the waiting was worth the ultimate payoff.
Then, of course, there are the views. To say they're merely 'astonishing' would be an understatement. The vistas are as equally captivating as the food, making your dining experience at this restaurant nothing short of mesmerizing.
Now, to address the less glowing aspects of the experience - the shared facilities. The restroom facilities, shared with the nearby beach, may not offer the same level of refinement and comfort as the dining experience. In addition, parking can be a bit of a hurdle given its shared nature. But once you navigate these minor inconveniences, your gastronomical journey will surely make up for it.
In conclusion, the allure of this restaurant goes beyond its enchanting setting and irresistible cuisine. Its charm resides in its vibrant atmosphere and the heartwarming hospitality of its staff. Despite a few shared amenities that could be improved, the overall experience is nothing short of...
Read moreThis is the only review you need to read: if you’re planning a trip to Cala Deia from Palma it will take you about 50m-1hr. After reading the reviews online it looked stunning. But when we arrived it was overcrowded and people were literally fighting over car parking. There are two restaurants at Cala Deia, both okay but overly priced. There is no sand on the beach, only rocks. Not pebbles.. MASSIVE stones! Definitely not the most comfortable. Believe me, this guy later a blanket out.. no bueno! The water was nice, but don’t expect it to be crystal clear.. it’s just an ocean cove. The picture you see online are definitely edited to enhance the turquoise blue! The taxi service is absolutely HORRIBLE as well. You MUST PLAN TRANSPORTATION to leave when you’re done at the beach. Otherwise you’re stuck there and it’s infuriating! Taxi drivers do not want to pick people up from Cala Deia because of how difficult it to get down, drive extremely slowly to avoid the thousands of people infecting the beautiful landscape. We had to walk up to the town of Deia which was actually quite beautiful. It’s about a 40min hike in 35 degree inferno! Even in the town of Deica taxis wouldn’t pick anyone up. As a result, we found a bus stop which took us back to Palma (which was actually pretty good and took only 10min longer than taxi). But if you’re adamant about being picked up, then you need to arrange a private car from your hotel which is €120.. and they need a 3 hour lead time! The town of Deia was very cute and we really enjoyed it. I wouldn’t put Cala Deia in your top 10 beaches in...
Read moreWe made the mistake of not reading the fine print and while the water in this cove was beautiful, getting there and the beach was not a great experience.
First, the road down is basically one lane with hairpin turns. When you come across an oncoming car it’s extremely stressful. Not so bad if you are in a tiny car but definitely a challenge in a sedan. There is paid parking at the bottom, but given it was noon we were afraid all the spots would be gone so we chose to park a little further up on the gravel shoulder.
We parked just up from the lot, it was about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. But to be clear there is no sand, the shore is literally boulders and washed up seaweed. There is nothing comfortable about it, I honestly don’t know how anyone could sit on there for more than 10 mins. The seaweed is like a carpet you walk on to get to the ‘beach’. People had their towels on it, and while it didn’t smell, that wasn’t super appealing. It would be pretty precarious getting into the water with all the rocks because again, they aren’t small - these aren’t pebbles. We were there at noon and there was also very little sun because of the cliffs - if you want that go later.
There are two restaurants so if you just want to grab a bite overlooking the water, that for us was all it was good for. To swim in that cove you are best to do it by boat. There are other beaches with the same beautiful water but lovely sand so if you want to be able to relax, be comfortable and be able to walk into the water without twisting your...
