We did not go into the church but parked here for the trail to la Cumbrecita. When you walk up there is a road which go to the left, don't go there go straight up and there will be a sign with the two trails.
Because the reservation on the site failed (error while making the reservation, we walked the long route (7km one way) from the church Ermita de la Virgen del Pino. Nice walk with beautiful views, it was a bit exausting going up al the time with sometime a drizzle and then sun again. At the Mirador de la Cumbrecita you have to walk to the view points (not much to see at the parking). We only walked to the first viewpoint in 10 minutes, it was nice view but would not go there again.
The really long routes are closed, see the crosses on the foto of the map. The way back was hard because it is the same route and not all down but sometimes up again. It took us 5 and a half hours (2,5 hours to the Cumbrecita, half an hour there to the view point and 2,5 hours back to the car...
Read moreVirgen del Pino is a small chapel surrounded by pine forest. Dedicated to Virgin of the Pine which a Spanish soldier noticed her by an accident in 1492 C.E. Many years later a local people contributed and gave their savings. They erected Virgen del Pino in 1930. A place worth visiting and spend a little bit of time there. In front of the chapel, you may admire an old pine tree. Pine estimated age is approx. 800 years old. It's amazing!
