A fascinating place -- this is the place where, in the summer of 1964, an Italian film crew, an American TV actor, and their German-French producers created movie history when they filmed "A Fistful of Dollars", the first part of what became the famous 'Dollars trilogy'. With some preparation and the help of the charismatic mountains in the background, you can see where Eastwood's Man with No Name told the local villains that his donkey 🫏 doesn't like it when people laugh about it...
Today, there's very little that reminds the visitor of the times when such treasures were made here. Except for an info board (which is very generic and hardly mentions Leone's entry into movie history) and two arbitrary remains (which are NOT from "Fistful", it's quite hard for any visitor to value the true cultural significance of this setting. It would be quite easy to at least add a few markers and signs (alias The Baxter house! The Rojos mansion! The cemetery!) and would certainly not get in the way of keeping the natural environment intact.
It would be wonderful if the people (and politicians) of Hoyo would add such information. For now, I recommend any visitor to prepare well by bringing screenshots of their favorite scenes from "Fistful" to be able to recognize where timeless...
