Amazing place to do some easy trekking one hour train distance from Madrid city. You can walk over 1800 meters above the sea and enjoy birds, fresh air, cross some rivers and nature. Very quiet and most of the days are sunny.

The train leaves from Atocha Cercanías and the stop is called Cercedilla. The price is 11€ return. Bring some sandwiches and water. And don't forget your sunscreen and a hat.

Lugar mítico de la Sierra del Guadarrama. El paso fue creado por los antiguos romanos para comunicar ambas vertientes de la sierra, para lo cual construyeron una calzada romana que va desde Las Dehesas de Cercedilla, en el Valle de La Fuenfría (al sur), hasta el puerto y Segovia. Actualmente solo tiene un uso deportivo, y es frecuentado por montañeros. En el puerto se cruzan la calzada romana, la Carretera de la República, la pista forestal llamada La Calle Alta y senderos que ascienden a montañas cercanas.
