If you have the opportunity to take this tour and experience this place - do it! We visited on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted immediately upon arrival by Desiree. She was equal parts knowledgable, lovely, and funny. Our two daughters, ages 5 and 6, took to her right away and spent the rest of our time holding her hand or asking for her attention. We were offered the use of a clean, beautiful restroom before loading into the van for a driving tour of the incredibly vast and well-maintained property. We were able to see all the bulls of various ages, cows, and horses. Following the van tour, we were led on foot into an indoor arena where Desiree showed us the matador's capes and allowed us all to try our hand at working them! The kids pretended to be the bull causing us all to have a great laugh! Then we toured the rest of the stunning facilities, learned a great deal about the attentive care they provide for their animals, and went over to the bull ring on property. We even got to meet Rafael Tejada, the renowned bullfighter who owns, runs, and lives at the farm. He was exceedingly kind...
Read moreWhether or not you agree with bullfighting this reserve is definitely worth a visit. Desire was an excellent guide, she made sure that the information she was giving us was appropriate to the audience (there were small children in our tour). We got to understand the breeding, the selection and the training of the bulls in a beautiful setting. The bulls, cows and horses certainly appear to have the best life here and are respected and looked after (especially when you think about how we treat animals that are bred for food). We were lucky to meet Raphael the owner and matador, who stopped for photos and showed us the way the matador works the capes. We would have paid more to spend longer to learn and see more, especially if we could have seen the older larger bulls. We have been to a Corrida once, and whilst we wouldn't do that again, this tour completed the circle and we will return if...
Read moreA real insight into tradition of Spanish bullfighting.
Our tour was guided by Franciska. She took us around the ranch and explained us how the bulls and cows were selected for breeding and for bullfighting.
We also got a good insight about the horses. There not only horses for the "arena" they also have working horses.
Franciska told us a lot about the tradition, history and today's role of the bulls and horses.
The animal have a great place, a lot of space and can live in heards. There health get regularly monitored by a vet.
There is a small museum attached with information about the owner Rafael.
Neither our nor the other guide did rushed to finished in time. They were very experienced and answered every question.
We can recommend the farm and it's easy to find, no need to book via agency. Just do it on your own like we did an enjoy.
Regards...
