This are an area in a hillside (around + 7 km from/above settlements of Playa del Inglès) with a place for snack/something light to eat, parking and museum in the hill side above. Museum are around an 3-4 fotball area in size. It's history about old settlements in Gran Canaria. Internal walking roads are native stone - use good shoe when you visit the museum (no slippers or disabled/wheelchair). Area are/may be slippery when wet! 6-8% level of area. Walking time in museum around +/- 60 minutes. Contains area with old stone houses and some animals. Area use diesel and sun to get some electric. It cost a lot to run (try to visit the museum - they need more money to stay open). Hidden loudspeakers make some background noise in area. It's exist an tribune/eating place (normalt closed) inside the museum with enough space for around 2 busses with people (outside it's enough space for around 1/2 buss with people in snack bar). Read moreMundo Aborigen is an attempt to present the life of aboriginal Canarian people (Guanches) in the form of a small settlement at the top of a hill overlooking the sea and Maspalomas. The settlement contains ordinary houses, chief's house, the meeting hall, "church", women's house, hall of justice, prison, and even an execution (not for very small children!). All this with original vegetation and animals (sheep, pigs, dogs). You even can borrow a dog to keep on leash during the round. A very good ifdea, and the realization is quite ambitious, but it is clear that the exhibition is struggling so it is already a little shopworn. Still, it is a good stop on your way to San Bartolome. Read moreWe had a trip with my children to Aborigen Mundo and we absolutely loved it. I had my youngest in the backpack carrier, path not suitable for buggies even the off road ones would be tricky to navigate. Staff is very friendly and happy vibes, the museum is amazing with lots of real life components, english and german translation available. Toilets clean and available, cold water for sale at the ticket office. Lovely to emjoy some packed lunch with a view afterwards in the cafe, where we watched bikers. Highly recommend, so good to connect with thr Island and know history. We went here first & then drove through Fataga to Fortalezza, which was good to visit as second with the new knowledge...
