Don't like giving anybody bad reviews, but felt compelled to write about our round at D'Aro yesterday.
Had booked on-line 3 green fees and a buggy at the cost of 297.00 euros, start time at 13.54.
Arrived about an hour before and was informed that there was a 30 minute delay (??!!), as there was a comp in the morning and it was going slow!
So, a 2.20 depart would just get us round before dark, so I asked if the delay would mean it would mean a slow round, to which I was told it would not and we would easily get round before dusk.
We arrived at the 1st tee, watched a 4 ball, then another 4 ball, then a 3 ball and yet another 3 ball 'try' and tee off....they could not hit a ball, had no idea, no etiquette....the starter did not seem bothered and was more intent in just getting them out of sight on the first hole....
Eventually we teed off, a bit earlier at 2.15!....we then proceeded to wait on every shot...and wait I mean 10-15 minutes wait...one EVERY shot...it was awful, with 5 groups on some holes.....
Not a marshall in sight....disgusting
We tried to stay patient and instead of playing golf which we had paid a 100 euros a head to play, we admired the stunning views which the course enjoys...there are only so many views you can enjoy!!!
We made it round to the 9th hole at 5.30....3 hours 15 minutes to play 9 holes!!!
We decided enough was enough...the groups in front refused to speed up or to let us play through, so reluctantly we called it a day and left the course.
We headed to the pro shop and explained and said this really is not the way to run a golf club, we understood that its a 'resort' course, but the groups in front of us I could guarantee had never been on a course before...we asked to be compensated for the fact we would not have time to complete the other 9 holes and were given a sleeve of 3 balls each...
A pathetic gesture for a spoilt day made by a greedy golf course not bothered by visitors diabolically bad experience...
Not good....
Yes you have responded personally and inadequately. Not good.
Over 2 weeks on now, offered me a voucher for 9 holes, I said I have no intention of going back to the region and if I did I would avoid playing golf here like the plague, so a voucher is useless...they are refusing to give a refund and now refusing to answer me at...
Read morePlayed this course late September and enjoyed most of the experience. The course sweeps round the top of a plateau on a mountain and is surprisingly flat for a few of the holes. There are a great deal of dog legs on the course so use drivers sparingly as you will run out of fairway. The day we played was busy so the round took over 5 hours in 30 degree heat with four hackers in front,no course managers to speed up play. Views on course lovely.Cost expensive when buggys included.Course condition generally good ,but some golfers are not repairing pitch marks. Word of mention to greenstaff who after cutting tee boxes were then manually going over and lifting Tufts of cutgrass left by machine.I would definitely visit again but wait for a...
Read moreAbsolutely spectacular views into the mountains as well as the ocean makes sometimes forget about the rather poor quality of the course maintenance. Also with the mostly very strong winds, it is tricky to play and you will certainly not end with the same ball you started with. While the manual trolleys are very new and great quality, stay away from the electric trolleys which are probably the same as 1990 when they opened the course. They are in miserable conditions and walking looks all of a sudden better. Fact is, that you can play much better courses very close by at the same price, or even cheaper. Instead of playing have, a drink at the Hapimag Restaurant and enjoy the...
