An idyllic café on the island countryside.
It wouldn't be wrong to say that you're basically entering a countryside feel-good TV-show, taking place in real life. You'll be treated with birdsong amongst the bush and apple trees, and an owner whom herself is incredibly friendly and open towards you; something that is simply unheard of in more populated places. Really, this isn't your standard cordial "order and go" kinda caré. Her friendlyness is honestly contagious, and you can't help but feel welcomed and warm. This is expanded by the fact that the entire establishment is styled as if it was someone's home, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if she lived here on the upper floor.
Lastly the price. I payed probably 20% less than what I would pay in Visby's inner city, and with an experience as rich as the one I had, I admit that I would have paid premium - i.e more than the prices established places in Visby offer.
You honestly come in and really feel like you've connected to a place on a strange sort-of deeper level. Really, an underrated hidden gem that deserves a lot...
Read moreWe found this café on our way to. Visby with the bicycles. We immediately felt at home. Irma was so friendly and hospitable. We could choose our own coffee cups. We had a great chat with her, yet she always left us to ourselves after a while so it was a perfect balance. Her garden was very cozy and a hen appeared suddenly, Irma tried to guide it back to its place. I felt like at my granny’s place! Coffee and saffron cake were the best we tasted on Gotland. There is also hand made stuff to be purchased at her place and very cheap and simple beds. We definitely won’t forget this place! Very warm feelings...
Read moreWe loved Irma's café and Irma herself. The craft shop is lovely, with some of her own craft (beautiful woven rugs), items made by other creators and some local herbs and oils.
We had the daily cake. Today it was a rhubarb cake and it was delicious. We sat in the cosy garden and just enjoy. A true gem in Gotland.
Special mention to the lovely...
