If there are few paradises on earth, this is one of them! The best time to visit without major exposure to extreme climate and climbing challenges is July-August. The sceneries are breathtaking. You can drink from all the creeks in the area, as they are containing water from melted glacier ice. The water shall thus be running - don't drink from puddles, though. Be warned about mosquitoes! Take deterrent sprays with you - many of them. The path from Nikkaluokta to Kebnekajse base camp (Kebnekajse fjällstation) is somewhat challenging as there are muddy places and many stones in many places. I did ride my mountainbike to challenge myself, but - even as a seasoned adventure biker - it was far more difficult than I thought. I won't do it again. So, I don't recommend it. Enjoy your visit. It's worth every penny, every drop of sweat, and every muscle pain that you invest in it.

It was a really bad experience. I didn't find any official warning that western route could be so steep and hard to hike. It is really likely for people to fall. The view is really not impressive enough regarding to the effort you need to make. I feel people there just want to make money by making the summit famous. Tbh, if you really want to make good money at least warn people of the risk of going to the top of this mountain. Even from the western route! I hiked from abisko to nikkaluokta and took the detour to kebnekaise. I have to say views I saw from the summit were not the best in this trip

A must-do for every Swede at least once in a lifetime. Nice to have done it but will never do it again. At least a day is spent walking on rocks up and down. Great feeling once the top has been reached. Make sure to plan properly and take pictures! Keep fingers crossed for great weather too. Rocks are probably really slippery when wet. Close to no safety along the way, but if you do it slowly and in your own pace the risk of hurting yourself is little. Unfortunately there were a lot of people at Kebnekaise Fjällstation which took away some of the unique feeling of doing it. Do it!
