NOT a lanthandel in the sense of a grocery store. The entire Eastern coast of Øland from the southern end and perhaps 100 km northwards doesn't have one! You'd think there'd be a market for it ... It's a good quality cafe, expensive, with fine products. But the shop only sells expensive delicatesse sweets and drinks. Lots of items without price labels. I spotted one tomato soup variety, in a bottle. No grocery stuff like milk, bread, fruits, vegetables, meals or the like for sale. Read moreA very beautiful and charming place! We made a little pause and discovered the beautiful shop in the garden , the garden itself and the shop with the café and the goods. The offer was plentiful and we couldn't decide which cake we should take. Finally we took the one with the blueberries and got a very tasty cake with cream and cooled raspberries. It was wonderful! The café has a beautiful equipment and we enjoyed our stay. If we're gonna make it to Öland again sometime, we'll definitely come...
Read moreCute cafe but older staff (owner?) treated us very poorly when we didnt know to take a number :-(. No apology offered, it would have been simple to say "sorry you need to have a number" in Swedish or English. Instead we were treated rudely and shortly in both languages.
BTW, we were here once before 30 minutes before closing and they had no fika (treats and cakes) left.
The owners should be ashamed.
