The pavilion on an islet in the pond at the Bockhammar estate was built by order of Ebba Brahe in the 17th century and is probably the oldest preserved pavilion in Sweden.
Ebba Brahe was a Swedish countess and lady-in-waiting from one of Sweden's most powerful noble families, the Brahes. She was also a prominent landowner who managed several estates, including Bockhammar, where she developed iron production and improved the quality of the iron.
