Hållö — Local services in Sotenäs kommun

A tiny cozy island. You can reach here by ferry by Hållöfärjan from the Smögenbryggan And by Hållöexpressen from Kungshamn.

We bought tickets on the boat directly. They accept cash, swish and cards.

We went here on a day trip from smögen, but for those who wish to stay, there was Utpost Hållö hostel (check availability before hand) they had a small restaurant and toilet.

Hållö Lighthouse, is the oldest lighthouse in Bohuslän, first lit in 1842. You can take guided tours to the top for breathtaking views. The red white light house looks pretty in real and in pictures standing against that clear blue sky!!

You can hike through the whole island may be in 2-3 hours in a medium pace. Its pretty much simple to hike.

There are hiking trails available you can follow that.. but we wandered as we wanted. Its very photo genic island.

Marmorbassängen (the Marble Pool), on the western side with incredibly clear, turquoise waters is perfect for swimming. You'll find ladders for easy access. But it was very crowded!!

You should pack your snacks while visiting here. We spotted some wild rabbits 🐇 jumping through the bushes.

Im not sure if the island looks same during winter!! Without those purple flowers it would look...

Eine wunderschöne Insel für einen Tagesausflug. Wir haben die Insel fast komplett bewandert, an jeder Ecke finden sich tolle Fotomotive.

Wie kommst du hin?

Hållöfärjan startet im kleinen Hafen alle 30 Minuten direkt in Smögen (09:00 - 16:30), letzte Rückfahrt von der Insel 17:00 Uhr Hållöexpressen startet im Hafen von Kungshamn

Zeitbedarf?

Fahrt so früh wie möglich auf die Insel. Solltet ihr wandern wollen - die Zeit vergeht wie im Flug.

Tipp? Ein Großteil der Mitfahrenden wird sich unmittelbar nach dem Anlegen der Fähre in Richtung des Leuchtturms bewegen. Daher sind wir in die andere Richtung der Insel gestartet (von oben geschaut, gegen den Uhrzeigersinn). Dort „warten“ riesige Findlinge und unglaublich schöne Gesteinsfärbungen auf die Besucher 😉.
