Ascona lakeside — Local services in Circolo dell'Isole

A quick drive from Italy, where we were staying, took us over the border into Switzerland, specifically Ascona. It's a lovely, clean town, with many good looking hotels and restaurants along a beautiful lakefront. The scenery is breathtaking and, despite the heat, the lake give you that fresh feeling. Ascona is the sister city of New Orleans and there is a free annual jazz festival which, sadly, we missed by a couple of days. This town is well worth a visit..........we even made use of the 18 hole, tree-shaded, crazy golf course, just off the lake front, before we left......I won't tell you how many shots...

Ascona lakeside is a magical place. It can be reached easily from the southern part of the village. If you arrive by car I suggest to choose a close Autosilo/ parking place. You can walk through the older part of Ascona and at the end you will come out right fron of the lakeside. You can find there lake Maggiore and many restaurants. The lakeside promenade in Ascona is incredibly beautiful and has a wonderful atmosphere. The views of Lake Maggiore are stunning and there are terraces and restaurants along the entire length of the beach.
