A quick drive from Italy, where we were staying, took us over the border into Switzerland, specifically Ascona. It's a lovely, clean town, with many good looking hotels and restaurants along a beautiful lakefront. The scenery is breathtaking and, despite the heat, the lake give you that fresh feeling. Ascona is the sister city of New Orleans and there is a free annual jazz festival which, sadly, we missed by a couple of days. This town is well worth a visit..........we even made use of the 18 hole, tree-shaded, crazy golf course, just off the lake front, before we left......I won't tell you how many shots...
