Jochstock — Local services in Engelberg

Here's a hot tip: your standard Titlis round-trip ticket actually covers this chairlift over to Engstlensee! We were totally surprised and decided to check it out. Almost nobody seems to ride this lift in the summer, so it felt like our own private tour.

The ride over is absolutely stunning. You glide towards Engstlensee lake, and its deep, dark blue color is just gorgeous against the mountains. On the way back, we had fun spotting some super chubby marmots chilling on the grassy slopes below.

Now for the funny/slightly scary part. When you get to the Engstlensee station... there's NO ONE there. Like, zero staff.

Fair warning though: with only 3 or 4 chairs on the entire loop, the wait for a ride back can feel pretty long. There was a genuine moment of panic while we were standing there alone, like, "Wait... they are coming back for...
