Kronberg Luftseilbahn — Local services in Gonten

I had a great time even though I didn't plan the events for this day. I did ziplining with my cousin (which made me start to question if I'm not scared of heights), and my dad took the cable car up to the hill somewhere, taking pictures while enjoying the views. Meanwhile I was below somewhere in the woods still trying to decide if I was enjoying ziplining and convincing myself that I was "having fun". It was raining before so that made things a bit more interesting and left me with a few bruises lol

Did I mention the the farmers where fertilizing and "sweetning" the air with the wonderful smell of manure....just another day in the swiss...

Cable car from the start station at Jakobsbad up to the top station on the Kronberg. On top there's a stunning view on the north side of the Säntis mountain. Staff on site (ticket vending) was quick and helpful. Ticket prices very elevated though, even when only using a one way ticket (that's what takes one star away from a top rating). I recommend to take the ride up and then walk down to the station again. Very nice path, can even be done with kids. Count 2-3 hours...

If you travel from Zürich, you need to change trains in Gossau (most likely). Make sure to push the stop button before reaching Jakobsbad because the train only stops here on request. Round trip costs 38 Francs (as of 2018). In less than 10 minutes you will have reached the top (1663 mts. high) from which you can see Lake Constance, Säntis mountain and the nearby villages. A paradise for those into hiking....
