The hut appears like a friendly place to rest on the hike, especially since there are no other benches nearby. Not so! I sat on a bench to catch my breath and intended to continue on my hike in a minute or two. Within seconds, the owner descended on me and demanded that I buy something in the most unfriendly tone I have ever experienced at a mountain hut. As you can see in the picture I took before arriving, more of the hut's benches were unoccupied than not. My brief presence would not have prevented customers from seating themselves and would thus have had no impact whatsoever on the hut or its owners. I was practically chased off the property for no reason whatsoever. Shameful and knescusable behavior on the part of the owner. Stay off their terrace lest you also be verbally assaulted.

You don't get to this alpine hut by chance, it is in the high mountains, next to nothingness 😅. We had left First and arrived there wet, cold, and tired after 5 hours walk under a storm. We were welcomed by Yohan and his wife who have been running the place for 30 years. Obviously you have to book in advance your night and diner, or the equivalent of a mattress in the dormitory (10 sleeping capacity) and some soup and raclette. Most of their stuff are brought on site by helicopter, so you can't expect much, but the warm of their smile and a good night rest in your dry clothes. It cost us CHF 148 for 2, breakfast included.

Walked by to take a photo of the valley near the restaurant when an employee begins yelling at me that the bathroom is for customers only. I tell him that I'm going to take a photo and he sarcastically says "sure, sure". The direction I was walking in was towards the toilet but it was also another hiking trail and the only way to get a clear picture. I later saw that the toilet even required a key, I have no idea what this guy's issue was but if he goes off like this on people passing by on the incredibly popular trail I can't imagine what it's like to actually eat there.

This review is not about the conditions in the chalet, but about the attitude of the owner. We did not enter the chalet because time did not allow us, having to return to Schynige Platte to catch the last train going down the valley. We needed only a 5 minute break to eat a banana and put another waterproof layer on us. We were 2 girls on the trail and it had started to rain quite hard before we reached the chalet. Arriving there, the only shelter was an umbrella that was open near the chalet door. We took refuge there without thinking that our gesture would bother anyone. But shockingly, the chalet owner, not only came to argue that we dared to stay there, reproached us that we did not go in to consume at least 3€, because on the mountain nothing is free. We tried to explain to him that money is not the problem, but time is... He didn't seem interested in what we were saying. Moreover, he proved that he is totally inhuman and he also closed the umbrella. The gesture did not physically affect us because we had come and we were going to continue the route in the rain. But as long as we didn't use the toilet there and didn't go into the chalet to equip ourselves, I don't think we were wrong. But he was wrong to argue with us, to close our umbrella and, practically, to drive us away. We understand that he supplies himself with the helicopter and it costs, but we didn't use anything. His reaction was extremely exaggerated !! We were unpleasantly surprised and wondered if this was a general feature of those places. I hope not, because it would be a shame for the joy of traversing those wonderful mountains to be overshadowed by the presence of...

On our hike from Schynige Platte to First, we quickly stopped there for a break and because I badly needed a restroom due to my cramps. It was the only toilet available on the trail where you are surrounded by nothing else than nature. Although there was no sign indicating that you had to pay for the toi toi toilet, the owner angrily run towards me and shouted at me that the toilet was only for restaurant guests. I was shocked at his tone, there was no need whatsoever to be so agressive and unfriendly. I was obviously unwell and he rudely chased us away. Did not mention either that we could have simply paid for the toilet which of course I would have done but not after such an uncalled attack. Being a host is definitely not this man's calling. Not recommended to stay there or to even set a foot on the terrace and consume anything. We were expecting warm and friendly hosts up there but oh boy, were we wrong! Very...
