The entire route runs through the ridge and seems to be walking on the tip of a knife, but the tip is not that sharp, but it may not be a good choice for people who are afraid of heights! In addition to the amazing scenery step by step, this road has a great advantage that it not only climbs up, but also has the opportunity to rest down. In this way, the physical strength will be adjusted, and the intensity may not be so high. The most recommended way of walking is to start from Klingenstock and end at Fronalpstock. This direction is facing the Four Great Lakes! The mountains and rivers ahead make people forget the fatigue of hiking. And after arriving at Fronalpstock, you can have a meal at the mountaintop restaurant and enjoy the beautiful scenery while resting.

Another important reason for choosing this direction is that there is no restaurant on the top of Klingenstock. Most climbers also start from here and follow this direction towards Fronalpstock.

Another reason is the chairlift’s business hours. The chairlift at Klingenstock closes earlier than at Fronalpstock. So starting from Klingenstock and arriving at Fronalpstock, you can basically guarantee that you can take the cable car down the mountain. The opposite is not true and you may need to continue walking down...

Last Sunday we went hiking on the famous ridge trail from Fronalpstock (1921m) to Klingenstock (1935m), two mountains in the Swiss Alps, located in the canton of Schwyz: A M A Z I N G! This ridge hiking trail is 4.5 km long and it took us 75 mins (the official site says 2 hours), including the time spent to take some photos. I could do it, so I would say everybody can but be aware that some slopes can get slippery so be sure to wear proper shoes. Sunscreen and something to drink are also a must. The official website suggests to hike from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock mainly because of two reasons: 1) The most scenic landscape (view of the Lake of the Four Cantons) can be seen at Fronalpstock, so this way you can save the best for last; 2) At Fronalpstock you can find a restaurant and better bathroom facilities, so this way you can enjoy your time after your hike. However, we decided to walk the other direction – as mentioned at the beginning – because THIS WAY 1) We didn’t have to walk in line at other people’s pace (there are always a lot of people so this is inevitable) and 2) Ascents are shorter and less steep. Either way, the two summits can be accessed both walking or by...

This is a spectacular spot on a high cliff overlooking the Vierwaldstättersee five thousand feet below you. You'll see Lucerne as though over the curve of the Earth at the far end of the lake and ferries shuttling below you like striders on the surface of the water. The chalet where you can have dinner or spend the night is well managed and attentive with delicious food and comfortable quarters. Outside, goats gambol in a coral where the kids can play with them and Alpenhorns usher in the sunset. This is also a well known destination for mountain hikers. Nearby is the world's steepest funicular railway that is so steep, the cars rotate as it climbs. We're headed back to Switzerland and we will definitely...

One of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen! Definetly one of the places from where you could see the essence of the Swiss beauty (a mix between lakes, forests and montains). Superb!
