We checked in about a few days ago, and I can confidently tell you that this the weirdest and strangest “the so called 5-star” hotel we’ve ever stayed in.

Clearly this place is not friendly nor welcoming at all, to say the least, especially for young couples and families with children.

Starting with no ironing/iron board, no coffee/tea machine, unclean suite, attitude everywhere (except housekeeping staff), to providing you with wet towels (may be used?), to name a few.

In the first night (12:30 after midnight), we heard some clicking noise that turned out to be coming from the washroom electricity box, the gentleman at the reception thankfully came and assured us that this is not acceptable and strange! And promised to write to the management about it. We checked out and until now, no response or even apology received! For safety, we had to turn off the suite and washroom lights for the whole night, besides the washroom curtain was open where it was not properly closing...Next day, we asked for tooth brushes and took more than 25min and 4 calls to arrive.

On checkout, we asked about the washroom issues without response from management, and strangely they acknowledged knowing it. Moreover, we had some refund for dinner for 4 nights (we didn’t know it is optional until we fully paid for it) and was refunded. But we realized after leaving that they didn’t refund the whole dinner amount, so we drove back to the hotel. Strangely (but expected) the receptionist argued that there is no mistake (by saying the child was not counted in the first place), which turned out to be wrong when she checked again, and then she refunded the correct amount.

No wonder they requested upfront payment at check-in for the whole amount, they know they have a problem as a 5-star hotel.

Clearly, the list can go on and on, but the bottom line remains the same: it’s not worth it all, save your money for hotels that...

Very enjoyable stay at the Beatus Resort. Staff were without exception wonderful and attentive. The hotel has a beautiful location at the lake front and has fantastic views of the mountains.

Food is of a very high standard and the dining experience is very enjoyable.

Throughout the hotel there are numerous small thoughtful details which add to the experience: Every afternoon there is a cake buffet free for guests, there are themed dinners, in the parking there is water to clean your car windscreen, car park spaces in front of the hotel are reserved for guests. I arrived quite late, despite there being no porter on duty the receptionist offered to help me with my luggage.

Spa is nice, especially the areas accessible only to hotel guests (a beautiful relaxation room, and private saunas) my only complaint is that all of the sauna areas open only in the afternoon. It was however wonderful to enjoy the sauna and then directly swim in the lake to cool off.

Breakfast starts strictly only at 7.30 which was a little inconvenient because I often had to be in nearby interlaken by 8am. Breakfast is laid out but the lights were only turned on at exactly 7.30, some flexibility here would be appreciated.

This is a horrible place. I planned several spa services and booked access to the pool for myself and my girlfriend several months in advance online from California. I prepaid a total of over $500.

I planned this spa day to occur 1 day after my wedding proposal as celebration. I presented the receipt they emailed me at reception and we were denied entry.

After 10-15 minutes of confusion the lady at the front of the pool eventually explained that we needed to print out our receipt (this is not a convention anywhere I've ever been and is not called out clearly in any of my email confirmations or receipts). She couldn't help us if wasn't printed. Seriously?

I had to then go waste another 30 minutes with incompetent front desk staff to process a refund after this horrible experience (doing things like like looking up my original credit card I used to pay for this 2 months ago).

I have never experienced such horrible customer service in any other context I'm in shock with the level of callus behavior and incompetence from this staff.

We expected...
