Sometimes you find a place you will never forget and you look back on, and as you look back the memory gets better and better. This cabane is a real treasure. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. The location is absolutely stunning. The food was great. You need to look at the prices before you come - it is more expensive than some others but very much worth it. The photo is taken inside the dining area - one of the most stunning places you can eat anywhere. I stayed in mid September this year. Thank you so much to the staff for making us so welcome. There are rooms of 4 not crammed together so the sleeping arrangement is much nicer than places with crammed together dorms. Cabane Chanrion us exceptional from that perspective. The accomodation section is relatively new, very functional and with modern facilities. The best accomodation we had on the TDC! Wash rooms are bright and spacious. Odors from the toilet could be better attended to. All this is highly compensated for by a meal service which is second to best in the Alps. Everything is made on site, staff is overly attentive, and even bread is fresh every morning.
I am not surprised that this place is sold out well beyond the holiday season. I rate this the best cabane...

The hut was quiet the night we stayed and the hosts spread everyone out rather than cramming everyone into the minimum number of rooms as some huts do when not full, which made for a nice peaceful night for us.
Of course, it is not cheap but it is within the normal price range for a SAC hut with this type of facilities (we had discount for SAC members).
Hike in was beautiful and we hardly saw any other hikers despite great weather. We would visit again, maybe next time by...
