A very quiet town with high speed trains occasionally passing through town. We made a stop here traveling from Yilan to QingShui Cliffs 清水斷崖 as it was perfect timing for a quick pit-stop. As the town was really quiet and not busy, we strolled around a little bit and bought some mushrooms from a mushroom shop close by (段林香菇).

許寶仁鐵道之旅第36部曲 （五天四夜台東線北迴線） 第五天2024.01.26週五行程 同行者：謝寶梅老師+彭秀英同學 ■第五目的地〔7090南澳車站〕 搭乘北上區間4161車次：刷卡 和平＞南澳 10:18＞10:37 車程18分鐘，敬老卡扣13元。 〔南澳車站〕住址是宜蘭縣蘇澳鎮大通路22號。為何如此呢？雖然位於蘇澳鎮南強里範圍內，但越過台九線即為南澳鄉南澳村，此地距離南澳市區較近，且這裡是該鄉的主要門戶。 原來如此啊！ ■生平第一次來到南澳，累計第231個台鐵車站。下車看到的月台遮陽棚比較舊。但是秀英拍攝站房電梯出口那面牆，有原住民圖騰。沒錯，網查宜蘭縣南澳鄉為南澳群泰雅族的世居地，其他地區的泰雅族將南澳群泰雅族稱為Mklesan。 「南澳」泰雅原名為「基男」，意思是說非常美麗的環境，三面環山東臨太平洋，可惜今天逗留時間不超過半小時，但願以後再次造訪南澳車站進行景點探索。此行打破我舊有的認知，以為花東才有原住民，不知道宜蘭縣也有。 ■1982年1月1日由二等站降為三等站。本站有辦理貨運業務。收入應比較可觀。 ■由於鄰近的武塔車站沒有設置站房，因此本站與武塔站的「鐵路之旅 - 小站巡禮」紀念戳章，都被保管於本站內並開放給公眾使用。 呵呵！我忘記蓋章。 ■站房挑高，售票處上方佈置彰化扇形車庫12代同堂火車的大海報圖。拍照留念。 ■全國唯一車站廣場有一尊5點2公尺高的〔觀音玉雕塑像〕，神情蠻慈祥。拍照時看到旁邊石碑刻文。網查詳細如下：〔一位南澳鄉蓬萊國小校友謝先生在越南經營礦業的成就不凡，於93年從越南帶回一塊長8公尺、重30餘噸的白玉原石，刻成玉像，獲社區發展協會和鎮公所同意，立在南澳火車站前空地，他是感謝其母生前曾向觀音菩薩許下承諾，只要兒子事業順利，願設立觀音像報答。因此代替母親還願，玉觀音雕像成為母子間永恆回憶；也深具教育意義。〕 處處可見溫馨的故事。 ■蘇澳鎮南強里社區歡迎光臨的石碑立在站前左側馬路對面，我有拍照存證，南強里成為蘇澳鎮和南澳鄉重要分界區。 ■回到月台候車拍照，發現前方青山連綿，月台尾段視野遼闊景色優美。 ●本站逗留23分鐘，10:37~11:00。搭乘北上區間快11:01班車前往〔東澳車站〕。

Didn’t expect this small little station to be this beautiful. And it’s only 14 mins away from 金岳瀑布 (jinyue waterfalls) by taxi. Pretty well kept clean station
